Not being from the area and wanting to have Japanese style food we gave this location a try. Great service, good portions, and great food quality. Its what you expect from this type restaurant. Stop in and give them a try. We did not have any sushi.

This restaurant has been around for over 40 yrs. Mr Teng owned it for years and he was such an amazing soul. The same decorations are on the outside and same wallpaper and decorations are on the inside...so it is very dated. There is a thick layer of age and grease all over the tables and chairs. This restaurant has a lot of history. Today we went for lunch. $23 for three people. One person ordered pepper steak. It came with fried rice and an egg roll. One person order Mongolian beef which also came with an egg roll and fried rice. I order the sweet and sour shrimp with white rice. The waitress brought fried rice for all. The food was good but not outstanding. The price were reasonable. So over all the food was good and a good value. Service is pretty good. It is worth a try for an inexpensive but good lunch.

Reliably excellent sushi and all Japanese food, and always excellent service. Been here dozens of times and the food is always good, the service is always polite and attentive. Excellence in St. Matthews, at a price that is frankly hard to fathom for this quality.

As is usual in our family, the one with the birthday picks the restaurant. In our city rich with culinary art, we have had Italian, Japanese, and Mexican, but this year our grand daughter turned 21, and she chose Simply Thai.We were well familiar with this excellent restaurant through multiple meals there, and so we were pleased with her choice. The menu possibilities are plentiful, and the chances of enjoyment are close to 100%. We had a party of five, and we each chose different entres, all of which were delectable and plentiful enough for extra meals in the take home receptacles. One thing we had learned previously: The silverware brought to the table did not include a knife, and those wanting to carve the meat into smaller pieces required same. With a good-natured request, that need was met with a smile. We each went home with an additional bite and a warm feeling about a new 21-year birthday under our respective belts.

Frequently eat here & itâs always good. We start with ordering edamame then they bring out the little plates with several different kind of vegetables/peanuts in different sauces that we all love.My husband seems to stick with his favorite hot stone bowl bibim bab as seen in pictures so our friends tried the chicken one. I love my #8 rice noodles jap chae noodles with vegetables.Service is good & friendly. Not s large staff so sometimes you have to wait a little but never for too long. Itâs authentic & really good food. We will continue coming back!

Starting with a great tea selection and knowledgeable service this was a great meal. Beer but no wine however. The vermicelli bowl was good and our Friends chicken salad looked good. The mocha cake for dessert was good as well. It is a tiny place so go early.
