I remember when I first went to Andy Nguyen's over 20 years ago. It wasn't strictly vegetarian then. It was the first time I tried Vietnamese food and I was completely bowled over. I haven't eaten at Andy Nguyen's in a long time because it just out of my usual stomping grounds in Sacramento and I like meat. Friends wanted to eat there so I happily went along. I'm still not a fan of soy. The "beef" in my dish was a decent consistency. What won me over was the flavors. The careful attention to blending various spices and ingredients is unique among asian restaurants I have tried in Sacramento. Every dish was prepared in a healthy way and has a zen name. The ambiance is zen like too. The prices are a great value. The neighborhood remains a bit shabby, so don't let it put you off.

It's all about the Spice! We use spices you've never heard of, for flavor you'll never forget!! Bali Kitchen is a family owned, friendly cafe in Old Town Sacramento that serves authentic Indonesian cuisine and other tasty, healthy Asian dishes.
I was in Old Town Sacramento last week with my partner who was attending a conference ar a nearby hotel. After checking out most of the shops, I found this little Indonesian-Chinese fusion restaurant at 1100 Front Street, across the street from the main commercial area and about halfway between the railroad depot and the old one-room schoolhouse museum. It looked like a chummy place, the menu was posted outside, and the price was right.I chose Cap Cay - white meat chicken, sliced beef, shrimp and a truckload of veggies marinated in house-made ginger garlic sauce, stir-fried and served over rice. I ordered and paid at the counter and the gentleman said âyou can go ahead and take a seat anywhere and we'll bring it to you.â My lunch arrived a few minutes later. It was served on a cute square plate, and it was Ê»ono (delicious). Most entrées are $8.99 and can be prepared without meat - the menu states that that they can arrange preparation of menu items for their vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free customers. A variety of side dishes, appetizers, sodas and juices are available; no beer or wine. The restaurant is small (6 tables), friendly and clean. Hours are 11:30-6:30 every day. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.

This is our first visit to Bangkok @12 and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and prices. We had the drunken noodles, tofu pad thai, and their house made dumplings, all of which were tasty and fresh. The meal was actually in between average and very good, but there was not a rating choice for that level. The restaurant is only a couple of blocks from the convention center, so if you are attending an event there, I highly recommend this as an alternative to the hotel food or trendy places nearby. This place just serves all around delicious food. We will be coming here again...for sure

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Kru last night. The service staff here are very friendly and attentive. They were even able to hook us up for an appetizer thatâs not on the menu - fried squid legs - so delicious! We ordered cocktails that were excellent - a Manhattan, gin and tonic, and old fashioned. Our dishes were also excellent - hamachi carpaccio, bone marrow, sunshine roll and firecracker roll. We canât wait to come back again with our friends!

Don't expect the most fantastic Chinese food you will ever have, but the restaurant does deliver a pleasant meal. There are some more interesting items as well as the more expected stuff. We arrived for a late lunch when the place was quiet and mostly empty but were still looked after. Hard to say what the atmosphere is like when the place is crowded and noisy but in the more lull period the restaurant offered very comfortable and even intimate dining. The eggplant szechuan .was particularly good though it could have gone a few notches up in terms of spiciness. Overall, there is a clear reason why the restaurant has persisted for such a long period.

Food is great, long lines at times however the tables turn over fast. This restaurant is large with 3 or more sushi bars. This is not a place for a quiet meal, ask to sit upstairs if the noise bothers you.
