We stayed in Seefest and in Dragon Inn and went for possible lunch and dinner there,... its definitely one of the best seafood places where we have been throughout our travel in normal life, not highpriced and image attracting - its a normal SABAH place but excellent, Mr. Mike the "seafood expert" is speaking great english and consulting you with big big open heart to delicious food and other explanation about Semporna etc.... Mr. Mike and his colleges make the place to this what it is - A great place to have lunch and a real great place for seafood dinner !
Time of visit:July, 2019.Purpose of visit:Breakfast. My Favorite morning breakfast restaurant.Pros:1. Local owner, very friendly and warm.2. Restaurant menu is generally consist of Malay cuisine like nasi goreng, Chinese like mee, indonesian like ayam penyet with other menus like Nasi Pattaya and its Mee basah.3. The restaurant's design is pretty decent and not that big, have ample number of seatings an tables indoors and outdoors for easy pick.4. Got ample number for parking spaces too, so easy to park nearby.5. The food taste suits the price.6. Staffs were warm and friendly.7. Location is very strategic, there's a local grocery and computer store on-site as well as local Gas Stations (Petronas - there are 2 of them) nearby also car wash and local religious school. Just about half a mile to town.8. Also have homestay with fair price.Cons:1. The main area is gravel, if the weather is dry maybe a bit dusty so not recommended to dine outdoor.2. Not too many selection.
Zanah Food Truck is the first food truck in Semporna. I've never seen a food truck in Semporna before and suddenly these guys showed up! Boom!I came to their food truck parked near BSN Semporna one night, ordered two burgers and my order served just two minutes later! I'm so happy.I don't know how they did it but Zanah Food Truck staffs amazed me with their friendly attitude, passionate showmanship and pure enthusiasm on what they are doing.I bet they do love burgers and burritos because from my point of view, they love cooking and preparing it!Seems like I saw 'Chef' hollywood movie comes to real life when Favreau is the main star in his food truck. They are happy doing what they do - cooking, selling, serving burgers.I really satisfied with the menu - they cooked it professionally. These guys are so friendly with their customers and with any buyers who came to their food truck. They wear their trademark uniform - a black round neck t shirt with large 'Zanah Food Truck' logo in the front. You can recognize Zanah Food Truck easily in Semporna town because their truck is painted with bright yellow color and they parked in the same place every night, that is in front of Bank Simpanan Nasional. The place they parked is also clean. There is covered place right there. They also bring along some stools and tables for you to sit and eat, or just sit while waiting. The night is new, fresh and totally clean so you have no doubt about the cleanliness and the quality of the food they prepare.Personally, I highly recommend Zanah Food Truck to any tourist, travellers and local people in Semporna. They maybe look small from the inside but actually they will make you happy.Trust me. I've been there!

This place was full of eaters mostly from China so decided to try it. After 5 minutes trying to get table for two person and making eye contact with TWO waiters and asking table from them, needed to go directly to cash counter as they kept ignoring us. They found us a table and same ignorance continued, they failed to give us menus in 10 minutes after which we told the person in charge that your service is rude - he basically throw us out (well we were on our way out anyway). There are lot of seafood restaurants on seafront, take any one of them over this ignorant and rude place where they treat you like a trash!

Located just beside Sipadan Inn II, in a relatively new development area of Semporna. We offer an Al Fresco dining environment with a superb seaview just outside our premises. Suitable for families, couples and groups of all ages.
We got to this restaurant from the market side and were so hungry we didn't bother to walk the whole street as we would have probably chosen one of the other similar restaurant that looked cleaner. Nevertheless the food was good and the price was not high. The guy who served us was very nice and spoke English. While we were there some kids hid behind the table and begged us for money making signs they were hungry. They had no clothes on and were very dirty. I gave them a little money and the restaurant lady came to shoo them away.

We had a really great dinner at Bismillah! The vegetable roti was absolutely amazing, so much so we tried to work out how we could get some to takeaway for our onward journey!Definitely come here if you are unfortunate enough to have to stay in Semporna for the night, like us!
