We were not sure we wanted to eat here because the store front was tiny, and it looked like a quick takeout place from the outside. We had checked Trip Advisor, and the reviews were good so we ventured in anyway. We are certainly glad we did. The only negative about this place is the waiters and manager/owner? tend to hang around with their arms folding as if they are guarding the place. Kinda felt like we were being watched, in an odd way, not in a need more drink check way... Have a drink, they are strong, and you won't care after you drink just half of it! If you can get past that the food is fantastic, place is bright and clean, and the drinks are strong. We would definitely return should we be in the area again! Get the boneless spare ribs, simply amazing!

Family owned authentic Thai restaurant bringing the flavors of Chiang Mai and Bangkok to Portsmouth, NH.
Went to lunch on a Tuesday. First time here. Menu seemed okay. Started with fried dumplings, which were good. Then my meal came out (vegetables with tofu). My husband's meal came out 20 minutes later. It was one of the lunch plates so not sure why. Both were just okay. Not much flavor of spice. We both experienced diarrhea later in the say (sorry!). Since it was our first meal of the day, could only be from this food. Won't go back.Sorry you had such a bad experience with the old staff. The original owners of the restaurant, who sold and went back to Thailand 12 years ago, are back! Our new menu is fresh and authentic, and we pride ourselves on excellent service! Please come give us another try!

Near Bow St. Ma Po To Fu, 8.95, could feed 2. Silky tofu in savory - not too salty, sauce that's medium spicey with pork grounds, then topped with a sprinkle of sliced, fresh, green onions. Menu includes: Hot Pot starting @ 13.95, Hot & Sour Soup 2.95, an
We ordered take out. First: We ordered orange chicken because the picture showed slices of chicken with a sauce. We received small thin pieces of chicken that looked deep fried, were chewy and had to spit out. Hard to explain. Second we ordered the chicken rice soup and we received white rice with a few pieces of chicken. No broth at all. This was on a slow Tuesday evening. Last year we had no problem with our order. Time to shape up. I wish we had taken photos

Wonderful selection of food, great food and service. The restaurant I go to every time I am in Portsmouth. The money bags, sushi dumplings and tempura are amazing.

I've eaten here close to a hundred times -- it's a neighborhood go-to place. The standard Asian cocktails are good, especially the top-shelf Mai Tai. The Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai menu selection is varied and extensive -- so much to choose from that it can take several minutes to decide what to order -- and everything is delicious, with larger than normal portions. Relaxing atmosphere with a nice decor, friendly and efficient service, very reasonable prices. This time we had spicy tuna and Blossom sushi, Pad Thai, and ginger chicken. Love this place!

Food was terrible. Greasy tempora, mediocre drinks and terrible sushi. I actually spit out the christmas roll because it tasted foul. Both my husband and have a queasy stomach this morning. We were starving but I couldnt eat more than a few pieces as the raw fish smelled and tasted funny. Dont think they use sushi grade fish. Also the service is slow and dishes sometimes come out 20 minutes after they first start. Better options elsewhere.

We weren't sure what to expect of a noodle place in a small town, but we were pleasantly surprised! It's a small place with a few tables around a bar, but nicely decorated and nicely served. The ramen was interesting and original, definitely an original take, not your typical tonkotsu. It can be difficult to find parking, but here is a big private lot nearby.

We had heard good things about 5 Thai and finally went with friends. The place was really busy as we expected. We tried and shared a number of things on the menu and all were fine, but nothing was at all memorable. I rated it average because we couldnât remember what we ate afterward except for some potstickers. Nothing seemed unusually good. The restaurantâs ambiance also was average in our estimation. We wouldnât go out of oirvwa6 yo return.

Iâm a Brit abroad on business. Iâve spent a week in Gaithersburg and had a meal out each night and they were all good. I went to the Green Elephant and I thought the food was exceptional, best Iâve had in the US so far. Ambience was great too. Why the 4 ratings then? Well the food deserves some equally great wines and they struggled with their white wines, they really did their best and were super helpful but Iâve never tasted such a sweet Pinot Grigio, in fact I didnât know they existed, or what was sold as a dry Riesling. Maybe Itâs local tastes, I had a Riesling in Surf too and that wasnât dry and thatâs a missed opportunity in a fish restaurant. Still all round a fabulous restaurant and shouldnât be missed if you are in Portsmouth NH. Thank you so much for visiting! Our wines rotate so maybe weâll have something more to your liking on your next visit. Thank you for your positive review and feedback.Cheers!Pete Whitehead
