Liked the sauces but not the spring rolls. They were cold and not fried as in UK.Friendly enough but you would need a knowledge of French to understand the menuDear customer,Thank you for the review. We are very glad that you have enjoyed the sauces at our restaurant. In France, and from my experience, in the US as well, spring rolls are referred to as a different dish that the fried ones you have mentioned. The fried ones would be called egg rolls, or "nems" in French. Our spring rolls are a very well-known traditional Vietnamese dish and they are meant to be eaten cold and not fried. Egg rolls, on the other hand, are fried. Both dishes are available from our restaurant. I believe there has been a misunderstanding and a confusion between the English use of the name "spring rolls" and the French use of it. We appreciate your visit at our restaurant and hope you can return to have a taste at our "nems". We will work on adding English to our menu.Best regards,

My wife and I found it difficult to find a restaurant open on a Monday night in October. However, we stumbled upon 'Le Hong Kong'; a little Chinese Restaurant tucked away in a back street in Orthez France. The first thing I will say is that the welcome from the owner, waiter and barman (Just one person) was outstanding; he had a great sense of humour and was very keen, as we observed, to talk to all his clients. The restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife team; it is very clean and welcoming and the food was excellent; not at all greasy, as one often experiences in Chinese restaurants. Everything appeared to be cooked fresh and it was delicious. The couple seem to work very long hours as the restaurant is open 7 days a week and closes only on a Monday lunch time.I have no hesitation in recommending this little gem of the orient and will certainly visit often. Just one word of warning. The DO NOT EXCEPT credit or debit cards.
