Khan's has been around for a long time (about 30 years, I think), so they must be doing something right. The owners are lovely people, and they work very hard to maintain their successful business. There is a full bar, so you can have a drink or a Tsingtao Chinese. beer. The menu doesn't change, so you know exactly what you are getting every time, and the price is incredibly reasonable (I think it is around $20 per person now). You start with a plate of cold shrimp cocktail (and they are well prepared shrimp), some very tasty dim sum (pork filling, I believe) and a simple chopped lettuce salad with a vinegary peanut dressing. This is followed by your choice of soup (wonton, hot & sour, eggdrop). After the soup has finished, you then go to the prep area where you can choose from a large assortment of meats (chicken, lamb, beef), seafood, noodles (lo mein and mai fun) and vegetables (broccoli, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, baby corn etc). There are sauces you can use if you want to doctor your own food, or you can choose a sauce when you step up to the Mongolian grill to have your food cooked for you. I've never tried it, but I think you could have your food prepared with the bare minimum of additives to save calories. They serve white rice and some delicious sesame bread which I find very unique. After dinner, you have your choice of fresh fruit - melon - and they also serve you your choice of ice cream (creamsicle, coconut, chocolate, vanilla) and of course, fortune cookies. All a tremendous bargain for $20!

Off Route 9W.
Hinode is a gem of a Japanese restaurant. It is small but clean and attractive inside. Sushi & sashimi are excellent, very fresh. Other dishes - tempura, udon noodles, eel-rice (unadon, one of my favorites) - are also very good. Become a regular and get known by the chef/owners and they tend to welcome you with a complimentary amuse-bouche or special sushi roll (the tempura shrimp roll is great!) - a nice treat that makes you feel special. My family and I have visited annually in April for the last 10+ years on our vacation trip from RI to Phil to visit family and Hinode is a highlight of the trip. My kids always look forward to this tasty respite
