Reviews on Asian food in Opua, North Island, New Zealand. Opua is a locality in the Bay of Islands, in the sub-tropical Northland Region of New Zealand. It is notable as the first port for overseas yachts arriving in the country after crossing the Pacific Ocean. In the original 1870s plans for the town, it was named Newport. The town of Paihia is nearby, and the small settlement of Te Haumi is in between.

Right on the beach in Russell. Classic cocktails, lovely food and one of the best views in the country
We came here for breakfast twice. Food was great, Coffee (very important) was great too. Staff were friendly and helpul. The location is amazing right on the waterfront near the wharf to capture all the holidaymakers coming in to Russell by ferry. The tables and chairs outside would be fabulous in summer but being winter we sat inside. The decor and furnishings were very modern and comfortable.

Although some of the dishes were moderately edible, the owner did not smile once all night long, my soup tasted of nothing but hot chili peppers and burned my tongue, the rice was so over cooked that it was mush and yet somehow it was cold, and the waiter grabbed a beer that he had served by mistake and brought it to another table. However, my husband had already tasted the beer. We were astonished. If you donât know what Thai food should taste like do not let this be your first experience. If you do you know what Thai food tastes like you will be unhappy. Go somewhere else. This place is not cheap enough to justify the lack of service and bad food.

Our autumn list makes use of legumes, pulses, light broths and warming sauces as we head into the cooler months. We believe in fresh, free range happy produce with punchy flavour profiles offered in a low key sharing style format.
Dissatisfied with my recent trip to the Glass House, the food was average, in some cases over flavoured and under seasoned. For the price we paid I donât believe it was anywhere of the value, it wasnât exactly filling either. Ended up heading home feeling like I had a amuse-bouche and a entree. My peanut butter on toast at home was more satisfying. To be fair, there is a wide variety in menu with GF, DF, V options,Wonât be returning any time soon or in a hurry.

Had this on 2 occasions - fuss-free and you'll get to pick using thongs the food items that you want. Not of the highest quality or the cheapest, but they were rather tasty - the spicy chicken sushi, terriyaki chicken roll, salmon avocado sushi were all fine.

Located in Paihia, King Wah Chinese Seafood Restaurant has been at the forefront of the Paihia dining scene for many years.
Buffet Chinese meal with the added extra of superb oysters. Fat and salty. Wine was a reasonable price. $35 for all you can eat! A bargain! We went twice in one week! The staff were very helpful, offering water and anything we may need. Very clean and hot food continually being replaced with fresh food.

We have been to Paihia's Indian Fusion twice now. We have not been disappointed on either occasion. Their food is superb, the mix of spices is amazing still allowing you to taste every ingredient, even when you ask for "Indian Hot" as we always do (it's a British thing!!) Prices are pretty good too. Very comfy and tastefully decorated, the staff are friendly and very helpful about the menu. Highly recommended. Rob and Nat.

We have been one of Paihiaâs most popular restaurants since 2006 serving the finest Thai cuisine under the name âTHAI GARDEN CAFÃâ now rebranded as âGREENSâ. Keeping the same Thai chefs, we are proud to announce that we have introduced full Indian meal, w
What a great idea. This restaurant which also has a nice view of the harbor serves both Indian & Thai food. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We started with Keema Naan. This was a Naan stuffed with minced lamb. It was very good. My husband ordered Thai. He had the Special #1 Ocean Fire. It was seafood and veggies in a wonderful sauce which was inside a tinfoil ball. It was served on a platter with a flame. My husband asked for spicy and he said it was perfect. It was a healthy size portion served with basmati rice shaped like a star. I had the lamb Rogan josh. It too was very good. I brought my left overs with me so looking forward to a repeat tomorrow. They have a nice wine list and we enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Gris. Great place!
