This was our first time visiting Aki. I had the Miso soup. It was great. Reminded me of Benihana's Miso. The fried rice was different but I liked it a lot. It had pepper added which usually my fried rice that I get elsewhere does not. I had the soft shelled crab sushi which was just average. My husband said that his sushi was just average as well. To be fair we have our favorites elsewhere and it is hard to beat those. We will be back to try other things on the menu. The menu had a lot of options.

Forbidden City is in a little strip mall by Hanover Mall. They put out a buffet at certain times but they are not a buffet restaurant. They do alot of carryout business so if you come here to eat and the place is empty do not be confused by thinking they aren't busy! They also seem to keep the lights dim when the dining room isnt full (smart to save electricity) so if you walk in and the lights are low and you do not see customers still go in and sit!!! The waiter ( I have only ever encountered one) is a very nice guy. He is very friendly and engaging. He remembers my daughter and I everytime we come in even when it has been months. Ordering from a menu is wonderful cuz I know the food will be fresh. I LOVE the wonton soup here. They add nice pieces of chicken and some chopped snow peas which do add to the flavor and texture of the soup. This last visit we had soup and ordered chicken with mixed veg. The vegetables were fresh not frozen and cooked just perfect,. Not overcooked not under-cooked. As we sat alone in the dining room eating lunch the phone never stopped ringing and people were constantly coming in to pick up orders. I highly recommend Forbidden City for quality fresh Chinese food. I will post a few pics too! I hope this review was helpful! If so, please click "YES"!

My wife and I had a nice lunch date here today. The lighting is a bit dim inside, but kind of romantic even though our candle on our table wasn't on. For our appetizers, we had Gyoza and Dim Sim. Both good, but the Dim Sim could have been a bit fresher. We also had the Green Jade roll made of spicy Salmon, avocado, salmon and fresh kiwi. Oh my goodness good! So good! For our Entree, my wife had the Thai Red Snapper which is a crispy fish fillet with basil, onion, scallion in a sweet chili tamarind sauce. The fish itself very good. Too much chili tamarind sauce. Less would have been better. My Entree was the Black Pepper Udon. Made of Japanese noodles with shrimp or chicken (I chose the shrimp) bell pepper, onion, scallion in a black pepper sauce. Let me tell YOU, it was so good! It had a slightly smoked taste that just added to the flavor of this dish. So good that I'll be thinking of this dish for days!No room for dessert, but there is always next time!Service was on spot with everything.

Weâve been coming here for a little over a year and it is always really good. They have a wide variety. The sushi bar is awesome except when they run out which has happened only two times that weâve been (today being one of the times, 6 trays were empty)! I like and ha e tried just about everything here and the price is reasonable especially for weekday lunch.
