Whenever we visit friends in the bay area we always have to plan a night or two at Amarin's in Lafayette. Tom and his staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is over the top! We always order from the specials list for surprising combinations and specialties. What a treat! We had two nights at Amarin's this trip. Thank you Tom and staff!!!

Casual, noisy, but excellent selections of healthy choices. My companionâs turkey burger was terrific and my fish tacos were delicious. Pizzas and a wide range of vegetarian selections. Full bar, nice range of wines by the glass. Great location in the mall next to Macyâs.

This restaurant is located in Blackhawk shopping center (so plenty of parking)Restaurant offers inside and outside patio area. (Overlooking the pond)Service is attentive and fast. Price-to-quality ratio however is questionable. ($17 for 2 pieces of Toro nigiri)Calamari was too mushy and was covered in 2 sauces ( which was too much and came out too spicy)Some dishes were ok but nothing impressive emerged from the kitchen...

Went here with family on Christmas Eve with 5:30pm reservations. Got right in to our table and received our appetizer and drinks right away. Downhill from that point on! Took over an hour to get our entree. Food was lukewarm and bland, especially the Mu Shu pork which is listed as one of their specialty. Was Told by waiter, who cared less, that the kitchen was filling takeouts before in restaurant patrons. Place was packed but that should not be an excuse

We support our neighbors and local farms by offering fresh, organic, healthy ingredients. Our chicken is organic free-range, our beef is natural & organic and our seafood is sustainably caught & delivered fresh. All our desserts are made fresh daily in ou
Food is ok but, when the sun is setting, it shines onto the huge mirror against the wall. If you are seated at the mirror, the guest facing the mirror is in extreme misery, we gulped down our average food, paid our bill and ran out. No hostess or manager to talk to and no offer of help from the server. I wouldnât return

Under new managerment and we changed the name to SUSHI FIGHTER.Health,fast,fashion.Come and check us out
Kirin closed (believe owner retired) and replaced by SUSHI FIGHTER. Though busy on a Sunday night, got seated right away. Ordered Gyoza and both of us Bento Box with teriyaki chicken and tempura. The Bento Box was very good. So was the Gyoza, except they first forgot to bring it. Otherwise service was friendly and very efficient. Food very reasonably priced. Noise level moderate. We intend to revisit.

First, I am Chinese, so I know Chinese food. This place is legit. You aren't going to get any fancy or super expensive seafood dishes here, this is not that type of restaurant. But what they make is first rate, tasty and using good cuts of meat and fresh ingredients. The smoked duck is excellent, not to be missed. The Mongolian lamb and spicy green beans are also very good. The staff is friendly and hard working, and everything on the menu is reasonably priced. Yes, there are Americanized dishes, you are in Moraga not Chinatown but if you enjoy home cooked Chinese food you will not be disappointed.

To be fair, this eatery takes on a real challenge-to serve both Japanese and Chinese food from the same cooks and from the same kitchen! I would guess they do an enormous take out business where working moms and dads in LAMORINDA can put together a family dinner for $30 or so with emphasis on "fillers" like rice and noodles though I was surprised how quickly our bill came to $66. There were 2 adults who each ordered an entire, one with soup, and 2 appetizers shared by 2 kids. Now for the food: my grandson had sushi which looked like it might have been dropped on the floor- it was loosely packed and just did not look fresh. My wife and I Shared a medium sized bowl of hot and sour soup, and I thought it was excellent, with the perfect balance between pepper hot and strong vinegary sour. My criticism of the entrees my wife and I had, I must be critical of both for the same reason: the cooks cheated in both entrees by loading the dishes with inexpensive fillers, and minimizing the chicken, beef and seafood. One of the entrees was mango chicken- there was so much mango that one needed to search for the very few pieces of chicken that were there: my order was one I have frequently ordered in Chinese places- three kind Kung pau- beef,seafood,chicken- again the cooks cut some corners and filled the entre with a variety of vegetables, and an obviously small amount of the " three kinds". The vegetables were cooked just right, but then I didn't order a vegetarian dish, which was close to what I got. This kind of skimping on essentials they try to compensate by loading you down with extras, like a basket of fortune cookies, free vegetables(in our case cherry tomatoes) and an item for the kiddies I'm sure dentists will just love- a bag of cotton candy. My final words -it's ok for take out food, but in a community that knows what good Chinese and Japanese cuisine is?Richard

Step into an experience where you will feel pampered, respected and catered to without a costly price tag. The parking is plentiful, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is delicious. We told the waitress that we are vegan and allergic to peanuts. She discussed menu choices with us and was honest about the ingredients in some of the sauces so that we would know what menu choices fit our diets. All of this was done with kindness and ease. The food was delicious! The flavors were nuanced and the ingredients were fresh. You'll enjoy this place.
