Arriving late in Paris we wanted to find a nice Vietnamese restaurant. We found K et V through TA. It was a fair distance from where we were staying but well worth the walk! The restaurant is located just off the canal Saint Martin in a quiet street. There isn't even an awning to indicate the name of the place. But no need to hesitate, the place clearly attracts a crowd. Despite being Thursday night at 8.30, we were able to get a table without reservation. When I go to Vietnamese restaurants, I usually order Nems and a beef Bo-Bun. Those are my reference dishes for this type of cuisine. The waiter was kind enough to accommodate my special request of separating the Nems from my Bo-Bun (usually they come all-in-one in the same dish) My companion took the chicken Bo-Bun and a green tea brewed with fresh mint leaves. I have rarely been so content with what I ate. It was so good, that even when I was full halfway through my meal, I forced myself to finish because it was so darn delicious. The waiters were smiling, helpful, and extremely efficient. There is a Vietnamese and a Thai menu and everything on them looks delicious. I will definitely go back there next time I am in Paris and I recommend everyone else who reads this does the same. The price for two with soft drinks was a decent 31 euros.

Not the usual Chinese food from the fridge to the micro-wave! There, gyozas are homemade, dim-sum are fresh. No music, large tables, you can even speak to your friends without yelling. Not an extensively large choice but a realistic list of courses, all prepared at the right moment you order. Really one of the nicest place to get a real dinner in the Jourdain Village.

Traditional laotien cuisine...
Chez Alfred is a nice restaurant but because it is really nicely decorated; The environment is fantastic. In terms of food, we thought that there was too much coconut milk in each of the two main dishes offered in the menu. The soup we had to start with, was called Yum but had no taste. We love and know quite well asiatic food but the dishes that are served there, at least the ones we ate, did not have that special mix of herbs and savours that usually characterise asiatic dishes, particularly in Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. Service is good. Dishes are pricey but reasonable. It is a pity that the food was not up to the expectations raised by the decoration.

Shingane in a neighborhood gem, perfect for a lunch or dinner after a visit to Pere Lachaise, which offers a broad menu of appetizers, bimbimbaps, and BBQ that you cook yourself at the table. Fun for large groups. Reasonably priced. Reservation is recommended in the evening as shingane is a victim of its success.

A Taiwanese restaurant in Paris, right in the heart of quartier Marais. We present the authentique taiwanese cuisine of quality in the City of Lights.
We come each June to Paris for the culinary experiences. Looking for something local to celebrate my birthday, we found Chez Ajia 50 metres from Rue de Tivoli. Agree with all positive reviews on Tripadvisor. The menu is brief but presents well executed dishes. The simple combination and flavours reminiscent of good Asian cuisine had us come back for more another evening. (My husband is Chinese and food was as good as his mother can prepare!) You can tell hosts Kay and Geoffrey have put their heart and soul into their restaurant. Loved the street food concept with pork and rice, tofu was exceptional and tasty pork baos. Reasonably priced, dinner (Bao, tofu, aubergine, chicken, pork, rice, plus a glass of wine =â¬55) â¬27 another evening for just tofu and 2 mains. We wish Kay and Geoffrey every success in their business and family life. It was a delight to have the opportunity to learn of their journey. We look forward to returning.
