Haris Kitchen is definitely the cheapest place around Santhiya Hotel, but the food is really good. If you're on a budget, it's definitely the best place to go. If not, it's still in our top3 at the island. Defniitely deserves a higher place on the list.

Not only was the food amazing (definitely try the red and green curries) but the service was soooo great. The staff is always smiling and willing to do whatever they can to make your lunch/dinner special. Special thanks to Angela and Audrey. These two are so hardworking and a pleasure to be around. We managed to order Thai Main course (Calamari) with rice for two and a Freak Shake but we quite dissapointed that they did not provide complimentary drinking water(we ask for a glass of warm water but we get a cold water bottled:chargeable instead). Hope to look into this matter as the price and service fee was included in the bill as per my understanding as a chef also from a 5 star Hotel in Singapore, drinking water is complimentary. The food was okay here, the penang was served on a shallow plate with not much sauce at all. The beef was okay but not amazing. The toilets werenât very inviting and the toilet wasnât flushing and the sink had no running water. This couldnât help us think of the cleanliness of the kitchen was lowered our view of the place.

Following the reviews we had seen on TripAdvisor we decided to escape santhyia and give this place a try.In all honesty the welcome was not particularly warm and friendly the staff appeared to be frustrated that we were not hurrying to order.We ordered a garlic chicken dish , pad Thai and omelette and chips for the children. Although we specified cheese only in the omlette it arrived with lots of veg and salad to the children's horror.Chicken was grissly and tough in places although the taste was pleasant, pad Thai was not great slimey and underwhelming.Overall it seemed okay until around 4am today when I initially woke with stomach cramps and other unpleasant symptoms of food poisoning, my partner also is now suffering with the same as are the children.We noticed they had a sign saying they currently have no running water so not sure if this is maybe affecting the quality of sanitation.Left feeling very ill today and disappointed as we were full of great expectations following the reviews.Price wise obviously if you are going to get sick then it really was not worth what were small savings compared to some of the resort dishes. Sorry to sound harsh but we don't want others to get sick and waste money, maybe this place is different in the high season?

Great atmosphere for a quiet meal. You canât see the views at night but the ambiance makes up for that. The food is authentic and quite tasty. The soft shell crab was good. We had a lemongrass shrimp dip with vegetables that was quite tasty and the hor mok (I think thatâs what itâs called) is fantastic. The Chiang mai noodles were okay, they were too creamy for me. Chill chill at pai absolutely blew me away with their food, friendly service, drinks and complimentaryâs including scented burners and mosquito spray to let you enjoy your meal with out a fly or mosquito insight.The owner is an amazing woman with two gorgeous children who are always smiling and help out too.I tried this superb restaurant four times and it was perfect every time! The prices are so cheap, half the price of the nearby resort.The restaurant also includes a massage parlour, motorcycle rentals, transfers and activities including snorkelling and tours at a fraction of the price of anywhere else on the island.What an amazing achievement to have such a lovely place. Thank you very much chill chill ! We will see you next year !.P.s: I have read a review on here stating that the locals do not eat here.That statement is false as there were Thai couples eating here and Iâm not surprised as itâs amazing.
