Reviews on Asian food in Kigali, Kigali Province, Rwanda. Inhabited since the 11th-century, what is now Kigali has been the home of Twas, Tutsis and Hutus. The city sits on a series of verdant ridges and lush valleys, and has a Muslim Quarter and a bustling market. Rwanda's capital is the site of battles that left over a million, mostly Tutsi and moderate Hutus, dead. Kigali Memorial Centre is a permanent memorial to 1994's Genocide, built on a mass grave where 250,000 are buried. Kigali City Tour Bus offers an excellent introduction to this now safe, friendly city.

Borneo is the perfect place for a delicious and filling lunch. The food is authentic and fabulous, and there are numerous options for vegetarians. The service is also excellent, as all the staff members are friendly and welcoming, and the value (at least for the weekday lunch buffet) is superb at 4,500 RWF per person. Highly recommend and will definitely go back.thankyou so much for your feedback

I just love Monmartse: it's run by a quirky, passionate group of Koreans who don't seem to have looked at the prices of other restaurants and instead offer some of the cheapest eats in the city while making no compromises on the quality of the food. It's literally too cheap: I brought a date here and was worried she would think I brought her somewhere low brow: except the food is so good. Word to the wise, just order a single big dish for two people (seafood omelette!) because all the sides are a meal in themselves. It's a fun experience.

Our signature is "Japanese and Rwandan Lunch 5,000rwf buffet". All you can eat as much as you need. Vegetable sushi, tempura, teppanyaki, fried rice, okonomiyaki, fried noodle, fried vegetable, soup, ramen, salad, rwandan vegetalian food, dish of the day.
The place is a true blend of Japanese and African traditions. When you walk in, you are welcomed by a Japanese nod and then you are surrounded by an ambient decorated with African burst of colors and texture. We liked the sushi and musubi rolls very much. I did not like the curry with rice much because the curry sauce seemed to be too thin. And the staff might have some communication issues. One very kind waiter ended up giving us an extra rice bowl when we asked for (and showed him) extra rice while ordering a curry dish with "unlimited rice" offer. Otherwise, it is a very nice place. You can see the Japanese owner and another cook cutting the fresh ingredients when you enter. The price is also good. My husband loves this place.Thank you very much for visiting us and your positive feedback.I'm very sorry for your bad experience for curry with rice. We try to improve and increase quantity and I remind all waiter and waitress about unlimited rice offer. We are preparing for reopening, new menu, price and concept. I hope to serve you again near future.

I really enjoyed myself at Soy. When you come inside you are greeted with a smile. The owners are very friendly and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The colours in their restaurant are delightful. Must visit when in Kigali. Definitely my favourite so far.

We were tired from the long travel and looked for a good restaurant to have dinner and found this Bamboo Rooftop restaurant. The setting is nice and spacious.I'm probably exhausted I did not bother to see if the view outside was breathtaking being on the rooftop. We dined on Saturday evening and there's a live band playing. They serve good chinese dishes though I didn't like much the quality of the tofu. The serving size is more than enough for one person so be careful when ordering.

We were four friends for dinner at Papyrus. The place is quite nice though it seems to be struggling with identity issues, caught between being a bar with 6 TVs, dance music, lounge areas, colourful lights and a "gourmet" restaurant with lovely views from the balcony. We had a variety of foods (sushi, noodles, dums, salads, and curry). Sadly none of the dishes impressed and calling it gourmet is a far stretch. The best dish was actually the papaya salad which was also the only dish that we finished. The sushi in particular was not good. We could not determine which was tuna and which was salmon..... service was alright though many items on the menu were not available so orderingended up being somewhat of a laugh to be honest.

Welcome to Sakae Japanese Restaurant. Providing Rwanda with fresh Sushi / Sashimi / Teppanyaki Excellence in Dining since 2011.
This restaurant has good, healthy Asian food. A little pricy. They have an outside fire pit with chairs for lounging. Good view of the city. Parking is a bit of a problem. Very helpful servers.

This restaurant was close to our hotel so we decided to pay a visit one lunchtime. We only wanted a snack lunch so shared some fresh spring rolls and some fried spring rolls. Both were delicious, full of flavour and incredibly fresh. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant. Service was friendly and fast and they accept credit cards.
