Stopped in to take advantage of the BOGO entree. There's new items on the menu! Salmon was great! comes with stir fry veggies and rice. Nice filling, healthy dish. Shrimp with vegetables was okay, wish the shrimp was a little bigger but good for fast food. Prices are getting up there. Items cost almost as much as a real chinese restaurant.

Located in a small outdoor mall, parking can be challenging. We came for happy hour, but were seated immediately. We were impressed with the $2-$3-$5 happy hour menu and its selections. The place is about as crowded as most sushi places and clean. Our order came with a little delay. Food serving was generous and tasty. Our only complaint: There was no "last call" for the end of happy hour prices at 6pm.

Friends from the area wanted to treat us to their go to restaurant, so we headed to Tabu. Certainly had the vibe of a neighborhood restaurant. Our friends visit just about weekly, and the staff recognized them, remembering the issues the wife had with shellfish, so modified her order. My wife and I shared a California roll and a Philly roll, complete with wasabi and shaved ginger and a red sauce which I can't name. Service was prompt and friendly and the food tasty with ample portions. It was a great spot to have some dinner and catch up on what has been going on in each other's lives. The restaurant shares a building with a Starbucks and has a strip mall feel, probably because it is a strip mall. Not fine dining, just a neighborhood spot for friends to gather over food.

I wanted to avoid driving from Rancho San Diego to Kearny Mesa for great Ramen and Teriyaki Bowls. My daughter lives in Rancho San Diego and I was tired from driving around all-day and kids wanted rice bowls. So, I looked at Japanese restaurants closest to Rancho San Diego/El Cajon area and found a couple of places with good ratings. All I could hope was NOT to be disappointed.. Place was packed at first and waited only 10 minutes. I was very skeptical since staff was not Japanese (as in Kearny Mesa area) but I was NOT disappointed with the food. Teriyaki bowls are very large including the Sushi Rolls. And there is a large choice of Rolls to choose from. The Ramen was also very tasty and while at first appearance the ramen bowls look small, it's actually comparable, with a LOT less broth. I would go again and save me a lot of time driving not to mention the parking was not an issue as it is in Kearny Mesa. Great location, plenty of parking, easy in and out. Great place for lunch, dinner, or business. Place is very clean.
