Happened upon this place just browsing the Google map for restaurants in Whitehorse. The portions were very large, the prices extremely reasonable and the Pho dish I had was really good. In a city where decent, reasonably priced food is hard to find, this restaurant deserves five stars.

Golden Star Restaurant in Grande Prairie offers fresh, delicious Chinese cuisine for dine-in, take-out and delivery. We've been in business for over 44 years, offering customers a wide variety of menu options, daily specials and local favourites. We also
Simply put,..The Golden Star is, in this old mans opinion, the best I've found anywhere in Northwest Alberta, or Northeast B.C. Having been raised in Victoria B.C. I know good Chinese food when I encounter it, and theGolden Star fills the bill every time.

Just went in to get a late supper. When arrived at hotel room noticed there was nothing given us to eat our meal. I love that the staff was taking time to clean the restaurant..however stop cleaning and take time to make your customers have a pleasant visit. It's the way to get repeated customers!

Grande Prairie's 1st Specialty Sushi Restaurant Serving - Authentic Japanese Cuisine in a Contemporary Atmosphere
I decide to look for something different from usual Alberta steak places and ran into this cozy Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended for people who know that the Japanese cuisine does not stop on sushi. Excellent pork shoyu ramen. Than a selection a various sashimi. My favourite is toro (tuna belly). Nice Japanese music and excellent service. I am sure they also serve great sushi if rice is what you like. Highly recommended.

Great menu. Lots to choose from. Some unique items. Staff was friendly and the food was served promptly. The Gomai was the best Iâve had in a long while. We also had the sweet and sour roll which was deliciously unique. It and the spicy tuna roll were larger than expected. Very clean and nice inside. Price point was a bit high, but this is to be expected for seafood 1000 miles from the ocean.

Usually we have great meals at wok box but this time we were very disappointed, definitely not up to their usual standards. Ordered and waited over 20min for food to be ready (there wasn't anyone in line to order in front of me when I got there either...). Table area was messy and dirty, needing attention. Condiments bar was a mess and out of almost everything. Got home and found the noodles dripping is oily sauce. Overall not a good experience. Rated average as they use to be very good and hoping this was just a bad day.

Omg. Fabulous! Small place so go early. But well worth the wait. Rice rolls are the freshest I ever had.and the dipping sauce is 5star plus.

Was in Grande Prairie for business.Landed in -45C weather and once settled in hotel asked a friend where I should go for great Pho.He said TAYO.This is a hidden, family run gem, in a small residential strip mall just down the street from 4-Points Hotel. My server was very pleasant and helpful.I couldnât decide on what type so he brought me a shrimp and a pork roll with amazing peanut sauce. Both rolls were fantastic , but the pork roll has amazing flavour.I also ordered a vegetable Pho bowl that was plentiful. Only reason I scored it a 4 and not a five, no fault of their own. The huge conglomerate of Starbucks is kitty corner to Tayo in the strip mall and has blocked them from being able to serve tea or coffee.BRUTAL STARBUCKS!!! Stop beating up on the little guy.I will be back as I will be moving up for a project for the next 6 months.Thank you Tayo for warming me up on such a cold night and Iâm sorry I forgot my leftovers

Just driving through GP. The menu was simple. Ordered veg spring rolls and a noodle dish. Asked for tofu to replace the chicken in the dish and was not an issue. Both tasted great and came out of the kitchen quickly. The owner/server was amazingly friendly; really made me feel like I was chatting with an old friend. If I ever come through GP again I will be stopping here.

Twas seven of us arrived for supper. We had reservations and were seated expeditiously. Drinks came fast and were replenished easily. Our appies very tasty, good sushi and spring rolls. We had chicken, steak and salmon. All very tasty and cooked with gusto and aplomb. Lots of food, no one left hungry, maybe somewhat lighter in the wallet though.
