Chinese restaurants are often on the small side because they are usually family owned and deal mostly with a takeout crowd. Beijing Ranch is one restaurant that is a notch above others in terms of size, with a thriving carryout business and also a good dine- in atmosphere that exceeds that of most of its competitors. I experienced Beijing Ranch for the first time just recently. Having relocated to a new part of the city, we started to scout the area for Chinese restaurants and this is one of the first places we found, not to mention one of the closest. I was pleasantly surprised when I first walked in because I was expecting just a small, drab interior with a counter to place/pick up orders plus a handful of seats. The inside is not only larger than expected, it is also better decorated, creating an atmosphere and ambiance normally reserved for a larger restaurant. We order Chinese food more than any other so we expect only the best. Beijing Ranch, it turns out, is one of the better places for Chinese food and we knew this the moment we sampled some of the food. We ordered orange chicken, General Taos chicken, a beef dish, and another dish featuring pork. We liked everything and I was especially intrigued by the beef dish because the beef was cubed- not sliced like it usually is at other Chinese restaurants. The cubes were like small pieces of steak and they were tender and juicy. I felt like I was eating a steak meal with added sides. The chicken dishes were equally impressive, with chicken that was more crunchy than expected, not soggy like the chicken you often get at other Chinese eateries.Chinese food is a big deal in my household and Beijing Ranch has quickly moved to the top of the ranks among local Chinese restaurants. More authentic Chinese preparation, nice size portions, and delicious flavors make Beijing Ranch a Chinese restaurant deserving of your dollars.

all is well made and you get a salad and soup with the lunch special. i have always found the food here fresh, plentiful and well priced. They are just not doing anything exciting from a creativity perspective, so I don't drive out of my way to go here.

I have eaten here 4 times in the last month and thats a record! Fresh homemade wonton soup and their shrimp rolls are fanatastic! They are fried but have plenty of shrimp. Happy Family or China Dinner are wonderful! I will continue to eat here as it is my nee fav!

We've ordered take out from Akashi Sushi in Katy since they've opened, always a good experience, until last Friday. The Valentine Roll was inedible. The rolls were mush, swimming in a bath of liquid. I've never seen a sushi roll presented in this manner, anywhere in the U.S. or in Japan. The remainder of our $70 order was good, but no excuse for this roll. Would appreciate a response from the manager at Akashi.

Ginger Thai is a nice restaurant. The food could use a little work. The appetizer Egg Rolls had a funny taste and they were small. I would skip them next time. The Basil Beef Fried Rice was good. It had good spice and taste to it. My son enjoyed his kid's meal - chicken nuggets. The service was fine.I would only get the fried rice next time and probably as take out.

Ordered delivery from Grand Imperial for first time tonight. When we order from a new place, we get our favorites so we can compare. Grand Imperial is our new favorite.General's chicken was good. (I wish it had some broccoli in it. I love broccoli in the general's sauce!) Fried rice had lots of vegetables and was a family hit. Sweet and sour chicken was crispy and serving size was large. Egg rolls were crispy and good.My son loved the wonton soup. My husband and I really liked the hot and sour soup. Great flavor!A great delivery. We need to try eating there.

This place is very similar to other Japanese/Hibachi restaurants. If your party is small, you are seated with other groups of diners. We actually enjoy that aspect, and we were lucky to be seated with a nice group of other people. There are tables where couples could sit and order items off the menu that will be cooked back in the kitchen. For us, the whole point of going to a restaurant like this is to see our food cooked in front of us. Our chef was a friendly, kind and entertaining man! He made us feel welcomed and he went out of his way to amuse our young son. As a treat, I guess, he began to cook a couple of shrimp than we did not order. I quickly informed him that both my husband and myself have seafood allergies. I felt bad that that may have sounded ungrateful, but it is true. So we continue watching our meal being prepared and thoroughly enjoyed the show and our sonâs delight. The rice was bland and the beef did not seem to be of very good quality...quite tough and chewy. Very disappointing considering we really liked our chef and enjoyed the show. As we finished up our meal, I noticed my husband had several huge red hives all over his head, face and neck. We guess his food came into contact with the area of the grill where the shrimp had been cooked. I was thankfully spared, and able to drive us home as my poor husbandâs eyes swelled nearly shut. He was fine once he got a couple of Benadryl in him and the hives went away by the next morning, but thatâs always a bummer and a bit frightening when it happens. We are just grateful that his reaction was not worse. I would likely go back if it was someone elseâs choice, as it wasnât close to being the worst meal Iâve ever had...it just wasnât close enough to being one of the best, for it to be my choice. Most importantly, I would make a point to inform the chef up front of the seafood allergy so that none of the other food comes into contact with shellfish. What the chef tried to do for us was very nice...it just kinda backfired. Thankfully everything worked out.
