Tripped over this restaurant by accident. Great Japanese food and highly recommended for a lunch break. Unfortunately many of the shops in the centre have closed and it looks a bit deserted. Not unlike many parts of Fremantle these days, once you get off the cappuccino strip.

We had lunch here first and truly enjoyed the very fresh curry and Pad Thai noodles. It was so good that we came back another night for dinner. Had the special dinner that includes rice, appetizer and main course. I had green curry chicken with vegetarian spring rolls and my husband had the red curry chicken and deep fried wontons and all were freshly made and delicious, plus the price is very reasonable.

Have visited this restaurant a few times and I think it is one if the hidden gems of the Indian restaurant scene in Freo. The service is always close and attentive but not too close. There were 3 of us and we ordered Lamb Vindaloo, Dahl Makhani, rice and a naan bread, enuff food for 3 adults. Personally I think the Dahl Makhani (black dahl) is the best in Perth. The menu is full and well varied, BYO (no corkage charged), good parking on the street outside and all in all, a very good place for some very flavoursome Indian Nepalese food.

Arrived at Fremantle Market one Saturday morning, hungry for breakfast. Jaded by the usual smashed avocado or bacon and egg breakfast on offer. Wanted something different and discovered this place. This hole in the wall was not too busy and we placed our order and sat on stools whilst we waited. It took a while for the food to arrive and we noticed the steps the chef took in preparing the ramen which was placed in a wire basket and cooked in boiling water, then hung to drip before rinsing by hand in water. Finally it is placed in the serving bowl to which were added the condiments of your choice. The menu is simple and in English. We chose one with cooked meat, sprinkling of leeks and soy based soup. The topping is minimal and the simplicity of the meal allows one to focus on the ramen and soup. The ramen is the right texture, not soggy or too soft. The soup was delicious, not too salty or greasy but has the wonderful umami taste. Perfect!Yes, it is simple but less is more. The bowl of ramen was under $10, delicious and value for money considering a cup of coffee is $4 or more. Left feeling satisfied and satiated.

I have never seen my mum eat so much. She absolutely loves the fish served - spicy steamed fish recommended by the kind man who served us. The staffs were very attentive and accommodating. Am glad that we found this establishment and our only regret was that we did not eat here on our first night. Will definitely be here again the next time we visit Fremantle.

We took 4 clients here on a Tuesday night. Worst dinner in years. It wasnât because the waitress was new, didnât know the menu or how to find the items on the iPad (We managed to help her with that part. The San Choy Bow arrived really fast, so fast that it beat our drinks by about 10mins. It had 4 lettuce leaves for 6 people . We eventually managed to get their attention and waited another 10mins for 2 more leaves to arrive. WT....Just bring a plateful out! We ended up eating the rest from bowls which isnât the idea of the dish. The wrong wine arrived. Then the mains started piling up on the table. (Weâd ordered a banquet because anything else was too hard with the lack of English and knowledge of the menu.) The plates were massive and round and we literally had plates piled on plates. We joked that some of us could hold some plates so the others had room to eat something. It wasnât that we ordered too much.... it was a banquet course set by the restaurant. Surely theyâve had this problem before and could use different plates. The soy sauce never arrived. We were never offered more drinks, nor could get anyoneâs attention to order any. I assume they donât do tea, coffee, desert or desert wines as we werenât offered any. The food was just average Australian Chinese. Nothing like the Fine Chinese we expected. It would be at home in any takeaway container in Perth. Nice restaurant, good location, disgraceful everything else. Maybe we got a bad night but we certainly wonât be back.

The Modern Eatery offers the sashimi and sushi staples along with a range of small Japanese dishes in a tapas style such as tempura, gyoza and croquettes. Everything we had was good quality and delicious. We ordered 6 dishes between the two of us and we were full. This casual restaurant is deservedly popular as there were no free tables at 8pm on a Wednesday so it is worth making a reservation. Food prices are very reasonable but we thought the wine was a little expensive for a casual eatery with the cheapest at $42 a bottle. You can however BYO for a cottage charge of $10. Would definitely eat here again.

Saroor in South Fremantle has amazing Indian Food with a difference, try having a few of the starters like the fantastic Chat Samosa, combined with the amazing Tandoori lamb chops. The staff are just fantastic, there are nice seating areas outside, semi outside and inside. Agreat place for a lunch with a nice bar and cold beers on tap.

This restaurant was close to our accommodation and so good we eat here twice in one week.It is clearly extremely popular and having eaten here, I understand why. Our food was delicious and having eaten in many indian restaurants, I can confirm it was one of the best we've experienced. The staff were attentive without being overpowering. The food was beautifully cooked and arrived in a timely fashion. The house wine was excellent and whilst we lingered somewhat over the meal, we did not feel under pressure to eat up and get out quickly. The staff were amused by our slighty over zealous ordering and kindly arranged 'doggy bags' of our surplus food for us to eat the next day! ( Just as delicious then too!) My only regret is that as I was on holiday in Freo that I will not be back again for some time!
