We had to arrive at 4:30 pm to get a table for an early dinner on Motherâs Day. No reservations accepted. Parking is very crowded in the lot but they have valet parking. There is also parking on the streets if lucky to find one. We had a party of six and ordered the Family Dinner for $54 which included 5 dishes - House Seafood Soup or Sweet and Sour Soup, Clams with Hot Spicy Sauce, Kung Pao Chicken, Sauted Pea Sprout, and a Steamed Whole Fish (Tilapia). Our main dish was the Newport Special Lobster (market price). A medium lobster was sufficient for our party of six. Everything was fresh and delicious! The lobster was all gone but we took the spicy lobster sauce and leftover rice home to make a fried rice dish tomorrow. This was a very good value for a lobster dinner! In a per person basis, each person cost approximately $50, including tip.
I felt as if I was at an aunt's house and she was making us Pho. It was pretty tasty and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. We have been here more than a few times and have not been disappointed. Definitely a charming little "hole in the wall" type of place. Worth a try for sure
If you are looking for inexpensive restaurant, that serves plentiful, savory Asian food & noodle combinations, the Best Noodle House definitely is a place to visit. Although the chef was not available to prepare the entrees on the dinner menu, the lunch meals, noodle soups, and appetizers were numerous and delicious. A bowl of soup is a meal in itself & loaded with delicious noodles. The accommodations are somewhat Spartan, but just fine. The staff all were very friendly and focused on meeting patron's needs. If you're in the area looking for lunch, this would be a good bet. Cash only.
We were staying in a hotel nearby because a water pipe had broken in our apartment. One night we walked over to the Wechat and found it to be very family friendly and good for a quick meal. There are many oven baked dishes with different ingredients baked over the top of rice or noodles. There were several families in when we were there. Everyone was having a good time with good Wifi connections.
If you have a hankering for Malaysia food, this place will do. The koay teow soup was light and delicious, however, the fish ball soup was plain and lack depth. The Malaysian signature dish of curry laksa was not as fragrant and spicy as I like and also little thin on ingredients and body. The barley lime was a bit tepid. This is a hole in the wall place, service was friendly enough, but the beef rendang was tardy on a slow Sunday late evening. Beware this is a CASH ONLY place. Keep the cost down at $37 for the four dishes?
We were there in El Monte, Ca. for the Yonex US Open Badminton Championships. It was held at the LABC (Los Angeles Badminton Club) adjoining this restaurant. In fact they have a service window that caters to the club directly. You can imagine it was very busy during the event that was pretty packed with clientele.I know we (3 of us) ate at least one meal each day of the three days we were at the tournament via that window. These Olympic level athletes were so focused that the action was extremely intense and entertaining. Ray Ray's food is delicious, offering a vast menu and the convenience of having it within reach speaks volumes. At a tournament of this stature people didn't have to leave the arena for a second and run the risk of missing any of the action. I sometimes opted to go around the building if the line was long and grab drinks and snacks real quick so I could get back quickly. I'm not sure what their ongoing relationship with the club is but it was obviously a boon. So, double whammy while we were there, and that's awesome. The service was somewhat expeditious and efficient but probably a bit slower at times because of the extra busy week.Just FYI, the US Open Badminton event is one of the major tournaments and star studded with some of the top players in the sport performing at mind numbing, blistering speeds and extraordinary athleticism rarely seen in other sports. That made it an over the top experience for us as well. Hope readers check out both these places.Cheers!

My first time here and I enjoyed it. Not your typical Dim Sum restaurant where there the dim sum carts going around the dining area. Here its order style, place your order and will be brought to you. No waiting for the carts. Very cool, vibrant ambience. The restaurant dining area is clean. Good variety of Dim Sum to choose from, as well as many dishes made to order. Food is very good, and authentic tasting. Price is inexpensive, a good place to come to satisfy your dim sum cravings without breaking your budget. Service staff are friendly and attentive. Parking might be a problem during the peak hours.

Very few buffets have impressed me on such a small scale like Ichiban. For being a local they have such a wide variety of interesting bites, a person can't help but find something good. These folks have all the fixings for a fresh Mongolian BBQ, standard Asian dishes like Black Pepper Beef and Chow Mien as well Crab Rangoon. Speaking of crab-on weekends we have gone in and had our full of lovely crab legs. Ichiban also has shrimp and even sea snails. On the side where the salads are sits a full sushi bar with a nice selection of seafood nibbles from California Rolls to Sashimi. The salad bar has standard fare as well as a bit of kimchi and soups. Pizza and sliders have shown up on my Dad's plate and the desserts are varied and tasty. The mango pudding is creamy and sweet. Nothing is ever stale or old and well worth going in for a visit.

Very Disrespectful Service!!I am Chinese and being discriminated by the Chinese chief who does raw noddle cooking. He yelled at me for not handling him the plate for him to cook! There is no sign or rule that I have to physically submit the plate for him to cook. He also yelled at my kids for the same issue. The gentleman after me is not Chinese, but he said nothing to him.....The waitress did not come to clean the table as often as others. I mean.....I basically have to take the plates away myself. The food is ok but a bit unorganized........well I never have much expectation for this type buffet.....but the is beyond reasonable...................
