Discover Restaurants offering the best Asian food in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Translating to "Monday" in Tajik, Dushanbe was once a tiny mountain village known for its Monday market. Today that village has become a metropolis, but the Barakat covered market remains one of the most vibrant attractions in the city. Dushanbe's wide, tree-lined avenues are home to a number of monuments and museums, including the Unified Museum and the Museum of Antiquities, as well as a beautiful opera theater and myriad cafes and teahouses where visitors can sample Tajik sweets.
Things to do in Dushanbe
if you know Dushanbe, imagine a traditional upscale Tajik restaurant with colors and decor. This is Ararat restaurant, which in addition to Tajik and Asian cuisine, offers Armenian cheese, bread and BBQ. Pork can be order (rarity in Dushanbe).
Teahouse Rumi national uzbekian and tajik kitchen.
This place takes traditional Central Asian food and puts it in a classy, culinary and clean environment. I recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Dushanbe wanting local dishes in a safe environment.
This restaurant is really good. It's nice and cosy. Food is very tasty, portions are the biggest I ever seen in our town. Service is also very good. Staff is very kind and polite and you don't have to wait for your order for a long time. And the best thing is that prices are the most reasonable in our town. So I really recommend you to visit it.

This is probably your safest bet in Dushanbe if you want to try local food and avoid any stomach issues. You'll pay for it though, as the place isn't exactly cheap. Also allocate a bit of time, their shashliks take a while to make, but are fresh. The place is fairly huge, so it's tough to get their attention if you want to pay quickly. Also huge annoyance is their payment card terminal, I've asked several times and they said it's working only to realize later that they don't know how to use it.

Longcheng (Dragon City) is a restaurant that caters to the ever-growing PRC presence in Tajikistan, Dushanbe in particular. The restaurant offers standard Chinese fare with an emphasis on Sichuan dishes. The flavors are fairly authentic, if not spectacular. A lot of PRC people eat here, however I was unimpressed. Maybe I was expecting too much. I have it from two people whose taste I trust that the Gong Bao chicken here is below average. And honestly, if a Sichuan joint can't do a decent Gong Bao chicken, then that is a serious demerit in my book. Still, I have to say the Sichuan fare here beats anything available in my current base of Ho Chi Minh City. If you go, try the noodle soup-the noodles are handmade. They also have karaoke if you want to sing off the calories.
Sports Bar Istiqlol is the place where you can spend your time with pleasure. Every day is a separate event and scenery. Sports Bar Istiqlol is the atmosphere of football stadiums, parties with music from some of the best DJs, press conferences, interesti
The food was average, not bad. Portions good. Location in the map is wrong. It's like 1km further on the road, away from airport. Service when ordered the check was slow and gad to ask 2 different waiters. Prices are ok.

My favorite restaurant in Dushanbe after arriving this year. Better than some of the Korean that's found in Bishkek for sure. Good flavors, except the kimchi had some weird chemical taste last time. Everything else is great, minus the rice which is either cooked wrong or just low quality. But doesn't ruin the experience. Staff are average. Will definitely be coming back.

The TAJ restaurant has been opened in the heart of our capital. The quite modest interior is supported by plentiful menu of the best Indian dishes. Juicy fish on grill with mature vegetables, a variety of side dishes including few sorts of rice - everyone
It was nice to see more Indian restaurants opened up in Dushanbe. One of commonality among them is the mediocre quality of food passed an Indian food. Itâs an heritage and pride of Indian culture our « food ». So suggest you improve the quality without making it too commercial.
