The cooks are from Nepal, not India, which is same, same but still different! Being Dalian, they do mellow the Indian curry to accustomize to the local palate. So, when one goes to the restaurant, courteously pop your head into the open kitchen window and tell the cooks to please switch onto authentic Indian curry! Then, you will be tasting the fine taste of their Indian cooking.

Like more Dalian restaurant you need to choose what to eat before you sit down. Very wide chose of seafood and cooking styles. Recommend the squid with pepper. They use fried shrimp and garlic which gives it beautiful aroma.Scallops are nice steamed. Perhaps a little overlooked with the fresh prawns and scallops. Food is on the blander side. It is good if you don't like things too salty.Good choices tea if you are into different chinese tea which can cost up to $35 a pot.Highly suggest you come with Chinese speaker or have google translate ready.Staff don't speak English and allWriting is in Chinese. So for example after you choose a squid, you need to explain how to cook it. Lucky you can pay MasterCard and Amex. Other restaurnat only take union pay.

This restaurant has very good dumplings. The variety of dumplings are enormous. Good service and quick. It is not the cleanest place however.

On 18 March 2011, Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel, Dalian reopened after completion of a US$1.55 million five month refurbishment programme. The new Shang Palace is distinctly warmer and more sophisticated with a modern decor suitable for a bustling life
Shang Palace is the trademark Chinese Restaurant of the Shangri la chain. Took dinner at the restaurant after a Long flight. Ordered the stir fried goose meat and mushrooms, and the fried XO sticky rice. Both potions were enormous and I'm sure would have fed four persons. Good food and the restaurant offered a fine ambiance with free wifi. Jasmine tea was limitless. Very nice dining choice with pleasant staff. Surprisingly inexpensive.
Located on the 1st floor, Collections Signature Restaurant is The Castle Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Dalianâs all-day dining restaurant. Named for the famed collection of seashells displayed in The Castle Hotel when it served as a museum, Collection

Imagine a theatre play where the cooks perform as your personal chefs and cook every meal to meet the requirements of your very own taste buds. This interactive dining concept, successfully launched in key international gateway cities like Hong Kong, Sing
Breakfast at main restaurant was the usual extensive selection but have had better at other Shangri-La hotels. Lunch was a good selection of foods. The main Chinese restaurant in hotel was average & didn't appear to show-case enough of the local Dalian seafood selection compared to other restaurants in the city, possibly trying to appeal to broader market.

Indian Hut brings you a variety of traditional dishes from different regions of India. We also serve fresh Halal Authentic food.
Was looking for a good Indian food place in Dalian, a city we visit for business, we took a chance at this restaurant. Turned out that we were not disappointed. Daal and Naans were tops but the Tandoori platter was not up to our liking with mediocre meat quality and cooked a tad too dry. Mr Lovepreet, the manager, was friendly and he made sure there was nothing lacking on service. Place itself nice and suitable for a business lunch or dinner. Prices reasonable.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with plenty of seafood, delicious and great experience. Made the evening really lovely, however, it is a real pity to allow everyone to smoke at the tables when guests are trying to enjoy the good food. Maybe the restaurant could have a smoking room or ban it all together inside the building.
