OMG found a new gem in Rhode Island.... It's had been almost year since I had great food. Tofu and vegetables in peanut sauce was divine. The vegatables where crispy the peanut sauce was balanced. Will be back for sure.

China Star no longer exists. It was a great little take out place for many years. They moved to a bigger location and changed their name inexplicable to "NEWS Star" which was supposed to be New Star, but somebody made a typo. The new location on N. Main Street is poor and their new sign is terrible. Business has fallen off dramatically as witnessed by the always vacant parking lot. The booths are hardly ever used. However, their food is still good, their prices are still good. Marketing errors and change almost put a good restaurant out of business.

You wouldn't think such an amazing restaurant exists in this small strip mall in Smithfield. I almost don't want to write a review because I want to keep this gem all to myself. The Pad Thai comes with shrimp, chicken and tofu -- served hot with chopped peanuts. Delicious! The wide noodle dish could be customized to your spice tolerance level from 1-10. The Mai Thai mega sampler is the best deal if you want to sample many of the appetizers they offer. Every bite was hot, delicious, perfectly spiced -- with plenty of dipping sauces. Wash it all down with a Thai Iced Tea.
