First, this restaurant is not that easy to find, and every cab driver in Bastos wants to take you to a Chinese restaurant when you ask to go to the Korean restaurant. But it's well worth it to head down the hill in Bastos and find the quiet, dead-end street that hosts La Maison de Coree. The seating is in a pleasant open-air, covered dining room, and service was above average for this area. Two of us shared bibimbap and dwangjang jige, and both were delicious and authentically Korean.

Mrs. Nguyen owns the place and works the kitchen. The waiters have been here for years. Philippe greets and "holds court" at the table nearest the bar. Patrice take over the kitchen if his mother does not feel well. It feels like home. Carmalized pork, bo luc lac, and pho are excellent. Spring rolls are the best.

We've passed this restaurant many times and decided to give it a try on the advice of friends. They were right, we should have visited here sooner.Beef with ginger was excellent--nicely cooked and spiced, served on a sizzling hot plate. Mixed seafood, beef, and vegetables over thick egg noodles also excellent. Wines a bit pricey, but less expensive decent ones are available. Service was superb at first, but then the waiter forgot us. Still, we were happy to get a table particularly since we were walk-ins on a Thursday night. Restaurant was nearly full. I think reservations are recommended particularly on weekends or parties larger than four.We found the restaurant ambience fine--very clubby with the big leather chairs and spacious booths. The lights were turned down to just the right level. We liked it.Bottom line: good choice for a nice evening out in Douala.

I have eaten here twice now and it is always a quiet atmosphere. The food is tasty and not at all spicy. It is nicely presented and fairly quick service. It is a little pricey but you don't have a massive choice of other Thai restaurants in Douala. The downside is the waitress who is rarely forthcoming about the available dishes. There is however plenty of choice.

I have eaten at Chinese restaurants all over Africa (Mauritania, Chad, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Burkina Faso ... and the list goes on). Chez Wou is the best I have experienced! I do find that going on weekdays/nights is a bit better than on a Friday or Saturday night when they are a bit busy.

I am a blackbelt in Chinese food and, given its location, this is authentically Chinese with home-style dishes on offer. The places styled after a faded Chinese eatery with plenty of authentic design cues. The staff are friendly and attentive, plenty of Chinese diners (always a good sign) and the food is very good with a wide choice. Far better than others I have tried in town.

I recently spent a week in Douala for a business trip with some colleagues and we decided to give this place a try after reading the positive reviews here. It was located about a fifteen minute walk from our hotel (Starland) and tucked in to a semi-residential part of town off of the main roads. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the owner, a young Indian man from Delhi who seated us immediately. He went over the specials for the day and made recommendations based off of what we told him we like. While they have a wide variety of items on the menu, all five of us picked some type of Indian food to enjoy. Both mutton dishes I had were fantastic, and everyone at the table was very happy with the quality, and quantity of the food. The service was fantastic as well and I highly recommend giving this place a try on your next trip to Douala.

Named after Cameroon's famous safou fruit tree, this bright, contemporary Yaounde restaurant has views over the Hilton Yoaunde hotel's gardens. Savor international buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner with nightly themes, such as international and loca
I enjoyed the afternoon buffet a great deal. The Safoutier dining experience in Yaoundé is well known, particularly for its entrées and desserts. On this occasion they didn't disappoint. The pasta bar is also very good. I think it would be worthwhile if they also had a buffet towards the end of the day, so you could justify a heavy meal after work and not in the middle of the work day. Still a good experience nonetheless. The staff are also very polite and well trained. KudosDear Francisnm237,Thank you for your interesting feedback. We are verry happy to that you enjoyed your Hilton dining experience in our restaurant. Thank you also for your warm comment about our polite and well trained staff. We share with them your satisfaction. We have took note of your wish about a buffet towards at the end of the day.
