olive is fast becoming the chosen favourite amongst 'curry' lovers. Our five star master chefs are dedicated to bringing our wide range of patrons the most authentic Indian cuisine.
Excellent. A modern Indian restaurant specialising in Indian street food. There is an extensive menu with some items, which you would not usually find in an Indian restaurant. There are a variety of vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and helpful in making suggestions from the menu, service was prompt and the food was delicious. The paneer tawa with coconut and ilme rice was lovely. Others in our party had prawn and chicken options for this dish. We also loved the herby potato naan and aubergine and peanut side dish. As noted by other customers, there is no car park as the restaurant is just off the "Magic Roundabout" so parking can be difficult if you are not lucky enough to get one of the spaces on the road outside. We had a great meal here and will return.

Came here last week in quite a large party. The menu is varied and reasonably priced, and the portion sizes are plentiful. The waiters were attentive and friendly. Food was tasty, although i did find the chicken in my Silsila dish slightly tougher than i would like normally. Not sure how it compares to others in the area but i would come here again.

I would have loved to try their sushi but we popped there on a Monday lunch for my birthday and were told that due to one other order being in, we would have to wait 40 minutes. Will try again at some point, but it seemed an excessive amount of time for Monday lunch.Hi I am very sorry you did not get to try our sushi. We are an extremely busy shop and we try our best to please all our customers and cater to everyoneâs needs. All of our food is freshly made and so when a platter of 50 pieces of sushi is ordered in the middle of a busy lunch time I think 40 minutes is very reasonable, if you had ordered a single roll then I could understand your fustration. I can understand it wasnât ideal for you being on your birthday and you were clearly very hungry. Therefor we would love for you to come and have some of our sushi and see that that it is well worth the wait if necessary. Iâve arttactched my email for future reference, if you do have any queries moving forward then please donât hesitate to contact me. This helps both parties out much more then resulting to tripadvisor, as negative reviews can really hurt and shed a poor light on a small local business. We look forward to seeing you Louis [email protected]

A quiet Thursday night- took at least 20 minutes to order our drinks. Not too sure where the staff were hiding, but disappointing, particularly as we had a 2 hour journey home after my meeting. I had the thai marinaded Chicken wings for starters and i have to say they were pretty good. Not something i would usually go for in a Thai. My wife had the Spicey King Prawns and enjoyed them too. Over to the mains- Probably the most underwhelming main i have ever had a Thai Restaurant. Went for the CHilli and Basil Gra Pao... I am Used to fresh flavours and delicate spices, but instead i received a bland dish wish i honestly felt i could cook (This is a bad sign if i think i can cook the dish better). My wife ordered a prawn dish and the only flavour she was getting was an overpowering ginger taste. We mentioned the poor papaya salad to the chef... no flavour, spice and very few veg. He offered to add some chilli's on top which defeats the objective. Personally, i would say look elsewhere. May have been an off night- but when i am back in Berkhamstead, i will be looking for a new Thai restaurant.Hi NabkazThank you for taking the time to give feedback on your recent visit to Giggling Squid Berko. As a company we pride ourselves on serving the best Thai food and are sorry that on this occasion we have let you down.I will speak with our chef and ensure this is not an issue going forward. I do hope you give us another chance soon.Kind regards,Wat

Berkhamsteds best Indian Restaurant with exquisite food and service. Takeaways available also. A unique and delicious experience awaits you
Came in Saturday with a friend and had a great meal, great service. Ended up telling other friends and headed back on Wednesday by chance...A great start, perfect service. But then the Onion Bhajiâs arrived cold in the middle which we sent back and got new ones as we were finishing our meal, and a friend found some foil in his rice which concerned him and he asked about. Everyone liked the food. But just mildly disappointed that the Bhajiâs had been undercooked etc, anyway we were finished so we asked for the bill. Nothing had been adjusted bearing in mind the couple of small errors. Anyway, we paid in full with a tip. When the young lady came to collect our money I pointed out the two faults to her and she told me that I should have said something to have them removed from the bill... but surely I already had... I explained politely that âwhen you are trying to be a restaurant at this level, then surely when I made you aware of the issues I gave you the opportunity to make it rightâItâs left a cold & tinny taste in my mouth!
