Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Battle Creek. Known as "Cereal City," Battle Creek, Michigan is home to both the Kellogg and Post corporations. These two companies have left their mark on the city, building both office buildings and local attractions. The Leila Arboretum, part of Battle Creek's 7,000 acres of parkland, was created by the widow of CW Post, founder of Post Cereals. Post himself had been inspired to go into the cereal business after a visit to the now-historic Battle Creek Sanitarium, which was then run by John Kellogg.

Felt like to try another Chinese buffet while in Battle Creek. This one is smaller than the other two we have eaten at but was much less crowded at lunchtime. It was very neat and clean with an extremely friendly waitress, which I find uncommon in Chinese restaurants. There was a decent variety of offerings including an excellent orange chicken. The egg rolls, crab ragoon and burbon chicken were all very good as was the egg foo yung which I haven't seen on other Chinese buffets. They did not have Gen. Tao's chicken which is a favorite of mine but the orange chicken more than made up for it. The food was much better than a lot Chinese buffets we have tried. The selection was not as large but the quality was very good

Tony's always has good food. Everything is fresh, not overpriced, and he the restaurant is decorated nice inside. Has a Buffett with good options. I recommend getting the beef fried rice.
I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand, so my curiosity was peaked when this place opened. I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress actually spoke Thai; the food is the best Thai food in mid-Michigan, and the menu offers selections not found in many "Thai" restaurants. The fried rice was a disappointment, but everything else I've tried is spot-on. Go for the Som Tam (green papaya salad), it rocks!
My girlfriend and I had a really great dinner here!We got the thousand-layer bread appetizer, the coconut chicken soup and the pork curry. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly and even gave us samples of some of their specialty tea.Highly recommended!

We took my grandson here to celebrate his 21st birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place. He wanted "all you can eat crablegs" ... and they were perfectly prepared. Everything else was excellent too....everyone enjoyed the buffet. Their crab rangoon is some of the best I've ever eaten. Service was perfect .. he kept our drinks filled, took away the empty plates and asked if he could help several times. Only problem is that we're about 45 minutes away... but...we'll definitely go back as often as possible.

I was traveling with a colleague across Michigan. Instead of going to Wendy's off the highway, we decided to drive in to Battle Creek to see if there were any good local lunch options. We settled on Umami Ramen, and it was absolutely one of the most delicious meals I've had. The pork tonkotsu broth was rich and flavorful and the ramen noodles had perfect consistency. The number of add-ons, from seaweed to kimchi to pickled vegetables, made the soup a full meal. Just writing about it makes me wish I was eating it again. I also had a boba tea (they have a few on the menu) which is still weird with those mushy things no matter how "hip" the kids say it is.The shop itself is quite small with group seating and a no-frills, exposed kitchen. It's clear they make everything on-site and the service was friendly and enthusiastic. Price was very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients - no more than lunch at any boring eatery that caters to the business lunch crowd. Seriously the food is worth a trip across Michigan from wherever you live. I will definitely stop at Umami Ramen again next time I'm traveling in that direction.Thank you Daniel, we are pleased that you ventured into Battle Creek and found our little ramen shop. We are also pleased that you enjoyed your meal. Yes everything is made fresh onsite daily and we source as much as we can from local farms and growers. Boba tea is an acquired taste because of the texture but delivers and rewarding and refreshing experience, besides being hip. :-)We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to our area.
