Was excited to go to lunch, restaurant is lovely and very clean but the food was just very bland. Tried my friends dish and it all tasted the same even though totally different dishes, the service was not all that impressive either.

China City provides more than just food. It gives you a whole dining experience. Please follow us, to take a peek into what we do here.
I started to have second thoughts about choosing this place when I read the menu and looked at the prices. Had to eat my words when the food arrived. Biggest plates of food I've seen in a Chinese restaurant. We had the chilli squid, which was very tender and had a good flavour, the beef in oyster sauce, which I thought was a bit bland, but the best was the chicken in black bean sauce. This was the best black bean sauce I've had for a long time (and I do cook my own from time to time). Good sized serving of steamed rice, too. Plus free prawn crackers, and wine at $23 a bottle which was very good value. I would go back here again!Hi Seawife. Thanks for your time taken for the review and rating. We are glad that you have enjoy the dishes here. The dishes are priced according to the cost and other variables, the business does not take much profit out of it. We look forward to see you more often.Regards

Who doesn't like a nice Thai meal? You'll certainly get one here. The decor is okay. We chose the duck in orange which was nice, a pad Thai with prawns and vegetables. The service was polite and quite speedy considering the restaurant was busy.I've eaten here some years ago and would come back again.

Decided to try this restaurant out after hearing mixed reviews.Loved the decor and the the large airy space. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable with the dishes on offer. Every table has its own gas cooker inserted in the middle of the table with the gas bottle below. We decided to order a meal that was cooked by the kitchen chef and there were no complaints with our meal. Because my friend is a big lady she could not fit at the booth tables as they are fixed so couldn't be moved to accommodate a larger person. At all the other tables she found she was almost touching the gas bottles and this concerned her.Overall I would say give it a try a d support the local businesses.

Been a couple of times in the last two weeks, all meals have been good and tasty, sweet and sour fish, sizzling beef, chicken chow mein, combination omelette, special fried rice was tasty with plenty of prawns. Spring rolls and dipping sauce was average. They could do with a few more staff especially at night time as the poor guy on the desk runs like he could win the Olympics trying to the job of three people and this can sometimes reflect on the service. Lunch time specials are good value.

Tokyo Jacks is a Japanese Restaraunt, we specialize in share plates,, Tempura and Charcoal Japanese BBQ grilling. All our Seafood is Wild Caught and West Australian. We are very passionate about local fresh Produce and try to use as much local as possible
Ordered the edamame, miso soup, miso pork belly (daily special), seafood tempura (daily special), and the seaweed salad. Everything was delicious, although the service was extremely slow, and random - we got the seaweed salad last. In saying this, the staff were extremely friendly, so it didn't really bother us.

Used to come here often years ago and returned on a whim when passing through. Lunch has $10 and $12 meals which are fairly basic Chinese like most you find in Australia. Food is good, place is clean, staff friendly and obliging but if you are in for lunch, the service is quick and you won't be late back to work.

We stopped in for the $10 lunch special they offer, which is amazing value for the low price. As promised, after placing our order the food was ready in around 5 minutes - impressive! The food was the standard size Chinese serving - we had one order of Satay Beef with rice, and another with Sweet & Sour Pork with rice. The rice was somewhat plain (but definitely fried) with vegetables only being carrots and onions with the pork dish. But the taste of everything was excellent, the meat in particular was nice and hot and very tasty with the sauce provided. They also have a restaurant area so you can do dine in as well as take-away. We'll probably be back!
