Blending classic techniques with adventurous Pacific Rim flavors, culinary pioneer Roy Yamaguchi created an entirely new approach to fine dining. The first Roy's opened in Honolulu in 1988 and we've spread our warm hospitality and passion for innovative a
Roy's has been one of our favorite restaurants. Since it had been a while since our last visit, we returned. Friends had complained to us that in their recent visit they had experienced extremely slow service, even when the restaurant was not busy. We visited on a slow Monday evening and indeed confirmed that the service was especially slow. No one explained or apologized. How long does it take to prepare edamame? That appetizer, previously complimentary, is now $7 and must be requested, since it is off-menu. Our impressions this time: yes, service was slow for no obvious reason; prices have crept up and are clearly high end for no obvious reason; service was friendly, but the delays were not due to the server; food was very tasty, as always. On the other hand, the bartender (sorry, I've forgotten her name) was especially fast, friendly, & competent. So, if you enjoy good food and do not care about higher prices and slower service, Roy's is the place to go.
Good place to get our favorite Filipino dish. We regularly visit this place when we're craving for some local dish and don't have time to cook. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. If you decide to eat there, they have the local Filipino tv channel to watch the latest news back in PI. If there's a certain dish that you like, recommend calling in advance their menu for the day since their menu varies from day to day. Definitely will visit again.

Don't let the location in a strip mall fool you, this place is excellent. Had Tokyo Ramen and Hawaiian Poke, both were generous portions with clean flavorful presentations. The staff is very helpful and nice, taking the time to answer any questions. Will definately go back!

Not sure how we didn't know about this place before now! Hidden near the parking lot at the end of Lemon St and a block from the beach you'll find a little building with some picnic tables and fresh, yummy Filipino food. Loved the steamed buns, lumpia, and banana rolls! They have several menu options under $5 and get your food out to you pretty quick. Not greasy at all and friendly service. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stopped by for lunch today. We had just four things-fried spring rolls, fresh spring rolls with shrimp, pho, and fried pork and shrimp rice. Everything was good, fresh and hot. Pleasant, comfortable. We'll be back.

Blue Orchid Thai Cuisine is a family owned and operated restaurant specializing in Thai food that's prepared using authentic ingredients.
Good service , reasonable prices and tasty food; but they advertise as something a little special. That said, I didnât find it particularly interesting. We had the combo appetizer and it was okayâ adequately presented and good enough, but no flair and nothing to remember. The pad Thai was the sameâ certainly edible but nothing special. Overall, if youâre looking for a standard Thai experience, this might be just fine.

WHAT IS A HAWKER? Prominent on the streets of Asia, "hawkers" are street vendors who depend on locally grown ingredients to create dishes sold from mobile carts and stands. The most successful recipes, typically passed from one generation to the next, bri
I was very impressed from the moment I arrived. Service was friendly and the menu looked very tempting. We tried the roti with curry sauce, as good as I remember growing up in Malaya, then the shrimp (excellent), the duck (good), brown rice, chicken wings (delicious) and finished with the mangosteen and durian creme brûlée. That was out of this world!! Excellent and well worth the wait!! The restaurant is a bit noisy when full, parking was hard to find until I found that the valet parking was available right at the door almost just for the price of the tip. Well worth it. I could have saved 20 minutes looking for a parking! Highly recommend this place. Good food, service was excellent. Will be back again.

We stopped by for some quick late night sushi and were not disappointed. The restaurant was authentic with a sushi chef at the bar preparing in the open. Service and food excellent. Please give this review a helpful vote.

Start with the crab rangoons! Honestly this place is the best Thai food outside of Thailand.....pad thai was superb tons of shrimp and wildly tasty tofu. Decent Wine and Beer selection and fabulous service. If you're at or near the beaches this should be your choice.
