Great Japanese âfast foodâ lunch spot!Love kimchi and tender pork? The Hot & Spicy Pork Rice Bowl is definitely your dish. Filling, great balance & full of flavour. The Egg Meal Rice Bowl (with crumbled chicken) has a single rich flavour and is ideal for anyone who wants an authentic Japanese flavour without a trace of spice

Was a very busy midweek night and easy to see why. Heaps of variety, good prices and really good quality across the board. We were a large table so ordered a wide variety from the menu and nearly every dish was fresh and authentic. Perfectly flaky roti, delicious chicken curry, satay, sizzling plates etc .Only let down was the beef rendang which was the actually the main reason I wanted to go! It was âokâ but way too watery and not as rich and aromatic as I was expecting. Given everything else was so good i am wondering if they ran short that night and tried to stretch it out to go further? Was great value and a would definitely recommend.HI BradleyThank you for your review, Under no circumstances do we ever RUN SHORT, if we do happen to run out of anything we simply say it is unavailable that night. We pride ourselves on value for money food and to stretch it out would not even enter our minds. The serves are all portion controlled and as the Rendang is purely a meat dish with no other additives it may seem to be less generous than other meals that include vegetables , but rest assured the meat quantity is exactly the same. I am so pleased to hear you enjoyed all the other dishes and we look forward to seeing you again. Merry Xmas

We had a visitor from down south - Melbourne, and we always bring visitors here.Edgar is always welcoming and Gavin is usually our chef. The soup is hot and delicious, the salad has the most amazing dressing - would love to steal it. The meat is always cooked as requested. Sauces yummo. The show is entertaining, and the service from the girls is top notch. The chefs are artists with salt on the hot plate at the end of the meal. Just wait. It's amazing. It is licenced and BYO wine, which I love. For the price and variety I love visiting here for lunch. In fact, I have booked my sisters 50th in the next few weeks.

Staying in house so was a no brainer. Can see why this place is the number one rated Thai restaurant in the area. From the decor, good ambience, the friendly staff to the delicious food.Heat was at the hotter end which I really enjoyed. Can recommend the Red Curry Duck.BYO means you can have a good wine and not be charged exorbitantly.Enjoyed the night, would most definitely return.

Four of us decided to dine here (bookings essential) on Saturday night. They have two set menus for two or more people. ($75 or $90 per person) They actually let two of us pick one set menu and the other two picked the other menu. The food was amazing and plenty of it. They also have a huge range of Japanese whiskies. Would definitely go again. Dear DIcksi,Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I know the team will be thrilled to learn you had an amazing experience and enjoyed the famed omakase menu! We look forward to welcoming you back to Yamagen Japanese for yet another fantastic experience.Thank you and regards,Yamagen Japanese

Asian fusion dining
Nice enough neighbourhood restaurant. The salads we ordered were a bit average - basically the same thing but with baby octopus arranged around one and slightly overcooked deep fried haloumi on the other. The stand out dish was the Cape Byron beef rib which was delicious. The desserts were nice enough, but it was an extremely limited menu. There are no non-alcoholic drinks appearing on any menu which is pretty poor, but the bar person made me a good enough virgin mojito on request. The other thing was we were jammed in the front window with another table for two - forced to sit side by side. There was only room for one table in that window guys. The service was very friendly and attentive, but if I was in Surfers again I would probably check out some other option.

We had the most delicious meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. We arrived without a booking with 3 Mums and 6 kids. They were absolutely so accommodating, offering plastic plates and cups for all the kids. We took up half the inside of the restaurant and the guy was lovely to the children. We canât wait to go again.

We came here for dinner twice whilst staying at the resort. The food, service and atmosphere were incredible. We booked Teppanyaki for the second night, and would highly recommend doing so - what an experience. We chose the 'Akane' set menu - highlights were the chicken thigh (perfectly cooked), and the pumpkin miso custard. We don't eat rice, so they happily allowed us to swap our fried rice for edamame. The chef was very friendly and skilled, and our waitress was wonderful. The food was out of this world. Will definitely be back. Thank you!Dear TheSaucies, Thank you for your great review! We are so pleased to hear you loved your dining experience at Arakawa you decided to dine again during your stay! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon for another incredible dinner. Kind Regards, The Arakawa Team.
