Aosta (Italian: [aˈɔsta] ( listen); French: Aoste [ɔst]; Arpitan: Aoûta; Latin: Augústa Prætṓrĭa Salassṓrum) is the principal city of Aosta Valley, a bilingual region in the Italian Alps, 110 km (68 mi) north-northwest of Turin. It is situated near the Italian entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel, at the confluence of the Buthier and the Dora Baltea, and at the junction of the Great and Little St. Bernard routes. Aosta is not the capital of the province, because Aosta Valley is the only Italian region not divided into provinces. Provincial administrative functions are instead shared by the region and the communes.

We arrived at Oishi around 23:30 after walking out of another restaurant extremely disappointed and hungry. We were not expecting to find a restaurant open at that time and were ready to go to sleep hungry without having properly tried the Italian food we so much wanted to taste. Well, what a good surprise for us to walk in such and warm and welcoming place ! The waiter was lovely and offered us a cup of Champagne as a welcome aperitif. He made the effort to speak in English and have a little conversation with us about our and his life. The food was great ( specially the spicy chicken rolls ) and even tho they got one of the dish wrong everything was really nice. We ended our meal fully satisfied and were offered a taste of an oriental digestive ( which we really liked ! ). We will definitely come back to Oishi during our next visit in Aosta and have no regret to have eaten Japanese food in Italy.

Located on main shopping street. Take out or eat in. Had soya noodles and prawns. Very reasonable price and tasted good too.
