Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Antananarivo. Built on a narrow, rocky ridge, Antananarivo occupies a strategic point at the center of the island of Madagascar. Two forts watch over the city from the east and southwest, while within the city limits lay royal palaces, embassies, some fifty churches and a mosque. The city's most distinguishing feature may be the burnt out remains of the Rova, or Queen's Palace, situated on a prominent hill. Its steep alleys and stairways make Antananarivo a challenging but rewarding city to explore on foot.

The location and the interior is excellent. Clean, good service, but wifi did not work. The food was not to our taste, although it read (in the menu) and looked good. My taste buds did not feel any excitement about it at all. We were quite disappointed. Maybe it was a bad day, or our expectations were too high. But you can give it a try and prove we are wrong.

Well it's really weird.I had my best dish till now in Madagascar as well as the worst. The best was a shrimp curry which was incredible. We also wanted some veggies so we ordered a veggie gratin which was a mistake. So i guess if u come here stick to the local cuisine and don't order something European influenced.Would come back here.

Passed it multiple times, the restaurant does not have its own parking. But finally I found a spot nearby and decided to have dinner. The interior causes mixed feelings: the floor and lower part of the walls is light grey wood - gives you a Mexx store feeling; when you look up it is Versalles style wallpapers that fall off here and there; the tables are standard for the BBQ type restaurants wit built in gas stoves. The menu design looks simple but professional - a description of the dishes and a picture (very helpful); the selection is quite right - not too few, not too many dishes. Prices are above average in Tana. But when the food arrived (I ordered soup with seafood and BBQ dish) I forgot about everything - wow, it was good. Looking forward to coming back.

Thai Food is a long time favorite amongst foreigners. The blend of herbs and the delicate preparation of it's curries gives its unique taste to the food. Some items on the menu require more time than other. We always ensure to work in hygienic conditions and
It is close to the airport and I had a wonderful Thai pad at a reasonable price. I very much enjoy Thai food and I was happy to find a Thai joint in Antananarivo. The elderly lady makes a wonderful food and she checked on us if we enjoyed the food. She told us she every ingredients from Bangkok and it was really excellent food at a reasonable price. The restaurant is decorated with Thai culture and menus are with pictures to understand it easily. This is a must place to eat if you happen to be in Antananarivo.

We made a reservation on a Sunday early afternoon (1pm) for brunch. We arrived and were able to eat right away. There is a good variety, with breakfast items (cereal, pastries) and also lunch items (rice, veggies, meat, fish, tofu). It is not a wide selection, but it is good enough and already very satisfying and filling. There is a quick rotation of food, which means it is fresh and hasn't sat there for too long, which I really appreciate about this buffet. Service was nice and friendly, and the price for the buffet is very affordable. Overall, we had a good time there, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a brunch at any time on a Sunday (until 5pm).Thank you Sir for your friendly comment. We'll improve our monthly brunch by adding even more dishes into it. If you enjoy fresh food, please try our sushis and the fish of the days during the week.We are looking forward to serve you again.

The Orion is a restaurant with a capacity of forty covers, which also features a private room, in a business district. The Orion offers European or Asian cuisine, including fresh seafood and Chinese fondue. In a quiet setting, come to spend a pleasant time
Dined at the L'Orion several times during my short stay in Antananarivio ( Palm Hotel ) the food and service was first class,a clever mixture of traditional Malagasy and Chinese cuisine. The sea food dishes were exceptionally good.Below the resteraunt there is a themed Bento resteraunt providing lunche where you can order pizza , burgers plus Malagasy food.If you stay in the capital this resteraunt is certanly worth a visit.Ask to talk to Madame Caroline she was always happy to help and offer advice

Probably the best restaurant we visited in Tana. Short, easy-to-understand menu, but with a nice variation of dishes. Food quality was excellent and the presentation was great. First time I had a carpaccio in Africa, and lived to tell the tale... Steaks, pizzas, sushi(!), burgers, salads and great desserts. Great wines too, both in bottles and pichets. Credit cards accepted, great service from attentive young waiters who speak both French and English. We'd definitely recommend this place, and we'd definitely go again!
