This is not a flash retuaruant for foodies, it's a little back street locals reestaurant where you eat very well and don't pay tourist prices. The food was very good and the service excellent. Some previous revewers have said that the 'spicy' dishes were a little bland - I asked the waitress if it was possible to do them a bit hotter, and the kitchen duly obliged with a great spicy sauce. We really ate our fill and with a few chinese beers, the bill was under 50 euros.

Our second night in Albi and two restaurants we wanted to visit in the evening were closed. We decided to venture to a small local Vietnamese restaurant that received only 11 reviews but all very good and from French visitors. We arrived early and we're the only customers but received a friendly greeting in French with little English but a willingness to work with our very limited language skill. We decided on the fixed price menu at 17Euros a person. My husband had the shrimp salad, the beef with onions and peppers with rice all very fresh tasting and the salad had wonderful and crunchy ingredients in a lightly creamed dressing. I chose the beef and nem...a lovely dish with ginger spiced noodle, small slices of perfectly tender beef and two small fried rolls stuffed with finely shredded veggies and meat. My main dish was the shrimp (crevettes) Thailandaise a most delicious combination of crisp onion, cabbage, and a fantastic spiced cream sauce. I was told it was spicy but without the final dash of hot sauce it had just the right amount of zip. Both of us had the banana flambé to finish. This was just the right amount of food...not so much food that it could be shared. The cost including a lovely bottle of Gaillac Rouge was about 47 Euros. We feel this was a wonderful and very pleasant dinner and well worth the price. Thanks again to Evean our waitress and her parents the chefs!

Japanese fusion restaurant
We ended up in this sushi "restaurant" as the one we intended to go to was closed. What a disappointment it turned out to be. B Sushi Albi is not really a restaurant but rather a snack. Although we were initially the only customers, the girl serving was not in a hurry to take our order. And when the sushi arrived, it was not any good. Apart from the usual salmon sushi, it had some positively weird stuff: sushi with duck, with salmon and cream cheese, with something resembling pesto. I suppose this is an adaptation to local taste buds, but not a successful one at all. On top of it, it is expensive for what it is!The "restaurant" also lacks some basic things, namely heating and... a toilet! You cannot even wash your hands! In short, not a place I would recommend!

This is an odd review to write because I have never actually eaten there. However, I thought it was I important to write this review. My husband called to make a reservation one evening and noted we would be two adults and one infant. Restaurants usually appreciate this since they can place us somewhere where we can prop the baby in the car sear or stroller. Well, the gentleman on the phone said that the restaurant was very small and gets very noisy in the evenings. In essence, since its illegal to refuse a party with a child, he did his best to convince us that we didn't want to eat there. Part of me wanted to go there anyway just to show him that we could but instead we decided to give our money and our business to another local restaurant. We live in Albi and I have found most restaurants very family/kid-friendly so this came to us as a great surprise. If you have children or don't want to patronize establishments that are not kid-friendly, I would steer clear of this place. I really crave sushi sometimes but according to some of the other reviews, it doesn't look like I'm missing much anyway. Oh, and by the way, our baby usually sleeps the entire time when we eat out.

I found this delightful little Asiatique restaurant completely by chance ! I have lived in the area for many years and was taking a short cut through the maze of ancient streets in the centre of Albi when I came upon this gem. I took a quick look inside and was impressed with the decor and furnishings and I asked for a copy of the menu - and was again impressed by the polite, enthusiastic waitress and it wasn't even opening time !I came back with 6 friends ( 2 of whom are very hard to please ! ) and we all loved the food - from the 11⬠lunchtime menu to the Thai specialities. We are spoilt by the local French gastronomie but it will be great to have a superb alternative on our doorstep.I suggest that you book as it was completely full.
