We were in El Chalten in September and with limited places open out B&B recommended here and we were not disappointed. The pumpkin soup and empanadas for starters were good and the lamp pot and salmon ravioli nice main courses. Overall good service and nice food so would recommend.

Great restaurant deserves a place in tripadvisor. Frommer´s, Fodors and Travel and leisure recommended it, absolute BEST IN TOWN!
This restaurant appears to be one of the more established restaurants in town. Professionally designed, well managed, great pizza. Old photos of area mountain climbers adorn the walls.

They serve wine by the glass as well as bottle and have a selection of beers. We had the grilled chicken for two and ordered a side of grilled veggies. There are a few other side options, including fries. There were 5 pieces of chicken served on a wooden platter and the single order of grilled veggies was enough for two people. The bread served before the meal was very good and presented with a bowl of lentils and onions to put on the bread. The only downfall was that the chicken was on the dry side. The rest was very good.

The "Ahonikenk" (Restaurante Ahonikenk Chalten Fonda Patagonia) restaurant is owned by the same owner of Don Guerra, but this is cheaper and with a more comfort-food menu. The foods and ambiance are more rustic, the later being decorated with photos of mountaineering and shirts of football teams. It is located right next to the city entrance so it has easy access, and the dishes have big portions, ideal if you are hungry or want to share. The service was good and friendly. The menu has lots of options, between meats, soups, pizzas, pastas, regional dishes and desserts. We have been also there in the past and the food still is good, satisfying with the portions, and ideal after trekking all day in the cold. We visited it last year in Spring, and the quality was the same. We had as a free starter bread and lentil vinaigrette and we ordered a Schnitzel with French Fries, a Lentils with Red Sausage Stew, 2 Cokes, and a Brownie with Dulce de Lette and Ice Cream, being the bill with the 10% service tax added of 940ARS, that was around 20US$ at the time. It is a good place to eat if you need a more rustic (casual), but tasty comfort food, with an excellent cost-benefit especially for those who are in a budget and want a good meal.

We have been in this restaurant two times in our visit to El chalten because we loved it so much!! The first time we had the stew with meat (two different kinds) and it was great! The second time we ordered the 450g steak that came witw fries and salad, it was huge(!!) and tasty, highly recommended! The atmosphere in the restaurant was also nice and welcoming :)

We popped in here for lunch during our stay in El Chalten based on TA reviews, and we were not disappointed! I had the salmon rose pasta and my husband had the squid ink pasta, and both dishes were tremendous; especially after completing a walk earlier that day. The wine list was great, including their options by the glass. The service and price were also fantastic, so I would not hesitate to recommend it! :)

Good food, good wine, good service...but they do not accept the credit cards, the waitress are going to tell you like they tell everyone "we have an internet problem".The law is clear, they HAVE TO ACCEPT THE CREDIT CARDS, check on the government website, it is the fu**ing law.

La vinerÃa is a little wine and craft beer bar, where you could feel a friendly atmosfhere. Good pub music is listened to all the time. Travelers & climbers from all over the world create a magic environment where the inglish is the universal language, lo
Great place for a beverage after a long day of hiking. Very small and gets crowded. View of Fitz Roy from the outside area. We went there every evening for drinks/happy hour, love this little place. All hikers and backpackers (same with the whole town)Great outdoor area for drinks. They have multiple beers on-tap, wine, mixed drinks etc. The long tables are shared and you meet lots of great people from all over the world. We met folks from Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, etc. Service is friendly and good. Yani the waiter was excellent (not sure if I spelled his name correctly). Long happy hour from 3-9 pm, great prices and selection. Weather is very changeable. Of the 3 days we were there using the outside area â one was cold and damp (semi-winter coats), one was beautiful with lots of sun (short sleeve shirts and sunscreen), and one was in-between cloudy and cool. Just be prepared for the variation. Also they do take credit cards

We travelled during 2 months in Argentina trying all the Alfajores we could find on our way. Chalteños were THE BEST ones we found!!! We visited this lovely shop EVERY DAY while staying in El Chalten. We were TOTALLY ADDICTED to the Alfajores made fresh every day. There are several choices of flavour and the are all AMAZING!!The service is very friendly as well. DO NOT MISS this place, it's a great treat to have after the hard walks in the area!!!:-)

We tried to get a beer and possibly some food here but after waiting 20 minutes and never even getting a menu, we walked out. While waiting, we noticed patrons at a number of tables appearing to beg for their checks so they could leave.
