We went Saturday night for a couple drinks to start the night off. Service was prompt and courteous and we were served refills very quickly . One thing though the entrance is hard to find and it's not really Clearly labelled and there are steps that I'm sure at the end of the night people stumble out of the bar but other than that good bar scene

We've been here several times over the past year with family. It was a traditional restaurant and ice cream parlor for more than 50 years when it was renovated into The New Pops Restaurant. The menu changes frequently. We enjoyed a mixed seafood dish served over mashed potatoes, shrimp Parmesan. The presentation was excellent. The food was very tasty. For appetizer we shared the fried calamari, which was a little tough. We were there on a Saturday night and I DJ played Latino music at 9 pm. My only regret is they no longer serve any ice cream, which is sad since it was an ice cream parlors for so long. I had a variety of cakes, but we didn't try. The ice cream would be a nostalgic touch

Saw this place on a PBS piece some time back and Finally made the effort to visit it. It was wonderful. There was great history in the business and the neighborhood. The bar was filled with friendly locals a great bartender and even a great cook. She took time to see us at the bar to be sure we were enjoying our lunch. We were. I am not a city girl but the bar and the neighborhood were really nice. I look forward to going back. Oh and if you go. Sign up to support the bars effort to gain landmark status. After all it has been around since 1829. celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1929 and should be around for 2029. Nice places and people donât go out of style.

This little, boutique, restaurant is tucked away on a hidden corner in Glendale, across from the LIRR tracks. It's unpretensious exterior is home to fabulous gourmet cuisine. Vincent, the owner, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He graduated on May 5th of 2002 and has named his first owned restaurant, Room 55 in honor of his graduation day.The restaurant is small and interesting, a combination of contemporary Americana with a upscale flair. It only holds 35 people (and that would be pushing it). There's a small bar from which the waiter serves drinks. Scott, is a combination maître 'd, waiter, bartender and culinary adviser. He and Vincent worked together years ago and are now a team at Room 55. Scott was charming and helpful. The menu is unusual, American gourmet. There are several small plates and entrees. We enjoyed 2 different salads, the bone marrow (a specialty here which is, perhaps, the best bone marrow we've ever tasted), The harvest salad was excellent. It had pickled beets, greens, goat cheese and apple and was very tasty. The entrees were superb. The pasta with chicken was delicious, shrimp pasta dish excellent, Cornish hen and orzo delectable (ate it to the bone), and skate fish terrific. They were all served on lovely contemporary white china. We couldn't resist the desserts. A dessert tasting comes with 3 delicable tastes of: bread pudding, peanut butter bar, smores mousse, poached pear, or crème brulee. We shared a few plates. All were excellent. All dishes are cooked to order, so this is a leisurely meal. They have a nice wine and beer selection. The sangria (white or red) and prosecco were refreshing. It's worth the challenge to find the restaurant for it's outstanding food and service. The location could be better. There's no parking and street parking is very limited. Perhaps Vincent and Scott will move to another location some day. In the meantime, its a hidden gem.

Had dinner with my wife and a friend and were so pleased with every aspect of the place. food was excellent, served quickly and piping hot. Small wait staff (small space) were very attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Bar had a great atmosphere, lots of locals and definitely a very mixed crowd. Sangria was very good.

We have eaten here many times while staying at the Hilton. This time we were at the adjacent Hampton Inn and our nearest meal option was 144. We were here for a late lunch and dinner. Both times, the service was slow, though it was better at dinner. The food was definitely average. The chicken club salad was good.

Family restaurant on busy Austin Street in Queens (Lots of kids with parents). Atmosphere is great. Ate their famous Bison Burger and the fame is deserved. Wonderful taste and consistency and I did not feel over-stuffed, which is a plus for a man in his late 50s. Healthier than other burgers out there. Salads also delicious and Sangria was sublime. Menu layout is new and more complex than necessary. Overall, it was a satisfying experience

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our friendâs 80th birthday. Although we traveled a distance to eat here because we wanted a special dinner, our waiter seemed uninterested in serving us. A simple request for an extra glass was met with the response: itâll be a few minutes. Really? The bar was a few feet away. When we told him that we were ready to order, he told us he would take it in a few minutes. This was how the whole lunch went. My request for no garlic was not heeded and was sick all evening. He even forgot to put a candle on the birthday girlâs dessert even though he was told. This is not a cheap restaurant - the bill was about $50 per person for lunch. Unfortunately the tip was automatically added, otherwise I would have left far less. There was no need to please us when you know you are getting 18% of the bill. We will never go here again! He truly spoiled the day for everyone, but especially the birthday celebrant.
