Trevor did an outstanding job of serving us, so kudos. After dining at Cedar Pass Lodge for a few days, needed a change. Located the best option at Badlands Saloon and Grille. We both had an excellent Grilled Chicken Salad, a large serving and very filling. Restaurant appears very new or recently refurbished, clean and lots of dining space. Note: this establishment does not serve dessert, not sure why. Yet, the menu options are many and with variety. Highly recommended if visiting the Badlands area. Enjoy!

Coming from a tiny nation in South East Asia, we definitely love the western food served in this cozy restaurant! The day service by this kind old lady was fabulous! She was one of the reason we came back for breakfast the following day. The food was great, the fried chicken was so fluffy and delicious! Just off I90 and block away from wall drug, near all the hotels.... as well as being attached to a gas station. Before We rode the Badlands all day, we ate breakfast here and were able to walk as we were staying just a block away! Delicious ample toppings and fresh as ever!!! Always a great idea!

I have had bad service before and I have had bad food...never in the same visit. It was as if we were a problem to be there. We stopped by at 1130 on a Saturday. Well after what should have been breakfast but should be ready for lunch. We were ignored, given water, ignored...20 minutes later we finally saw a server and ordered. Fingers crossed we waited. Bathroom was out of toilet paper...signs were there, run for the door but our order was in so we waited. My burger was ok but swimming in dressing. The biscuits and gravy on the other hand...husband had to use a knife to cut them...biscuits...knife...ok, we ate, we paid and promised ourselves to check TripAdvisor next time we stop someplace because we would have been warned if we had.

Quick summary: very uneven food. Service friendly but could use some polish.We stopped in for lunch, and it seemed pretty busy, so we thought we were okay. Maybe they could do better on other dishes, but our experience was not the best.The menu has all the basics -- burgers, sandwiches, plates, gush &a chips, salad bar. There are also a few Tex-mex items.My husband had a good BLT where the bacon was excellent, and could have come from a good butcher. The fries were nicely done, but were rather tasteless -- I don't know what kind of oil they use.Unfortunately, I ordered the burrito that they seem proud of. The beef inside was a soupy mess that reminded me of a school cafeteria. The add-ones of cheese and lettuce, tomato and salsa were good, but this is not a burrito worth ordering.The iced tea is dreadful - awful taste, not very cold. Cutting them a little slack, the water in town has an off taste, but some places go to the trouble of filtering, or something. My husband just ordered water, and hardly drank it.The service is well-meaning, but should have provided a little instruction. Sandwiches come with your choice of soup or salad, but my husband was left to guess that he serve himself from the salad bar. Good news: the beef and veg soup was good.Maybe they can do better with other items. Mom always advised- when in doubt, order the burger. Maybe this is a better option in beef country.The room has a bar and separate restaurant. Both places were plagued with some torn leatherette seats.
