Reviews on American food in Valdez, Alaska, United States. Valdez /vælˈdiːz/,/vəlˈdɛz/ (Alutiiq: Suacit) is a city in Valdez-Cordova Census Area in the U.S. state of Alaska. A former Gold Rush town, it is located at the head of a fjord on the eastern side of Prince William Sound. The port did not flourish until after the road link to Fairbanks was constructed in 1899. Today it is one of the most important ports in Alaska, a commercial fishing port as well as a freight terminal.

32Ë Lounge & Grill , located inside the Mountain Sky Hotel in beautiful Valdez Alaska. Serving a menu rich in natural ingredients and local seafood. A great atmosphere, amazing service and incredible food make this "The CoolestË Place to Eat in Valdez".
I ordered a steak dinner while and have to say it was not edible. It was fat and grizzle as well as overlooked and burned in places. I ordered it medium. I couldn't cut it with a knife. I ordered some sauce with it which when brought out it was missing. It was supposed to be some mushroom sauce. They brought out a little less than an ounce in an ounce sized cup. It was watery, tasteless and had 1 small piece of one small button mushroom in the tiny bit of sauce. The mashed potatoes were dried out with no seasoning. The vegetables were the best part of it and they were overlooked. No bread, nothing more. All that for the low price of $30. They didn't charge me for the food. I will never go back.
For a quick sandwich and a more reasonable price in Valdez to eat, subway is a decent choice. It's not much different than any other subway except their prices are higher in Valdez but that's typical for Alaska. When the place gets busy, the area they prepare the food seems to get messy, but they seem to clean it up pretty well when things slow down. So if you are wanting a quick sandwich and like subway sandwiches, then you will not be disappointed.

While in Valdez, went to Wheelhouse where we ate 2 years ago. First we both had clam chowder. It was excellent with more clams and less potatoes than most. I had a small Caesar Salad plus Halibut-it was awesome. Friend had the encrusted Halibut -it was also excellent! The view of the Marina is very picturesque.

I ordered a local Rockfish special....It was okay but the ingredients of the dish made it taste like something Iâd get from a school cafeteria. They offered bread but it was bread sticks made from pizza dough. A good note the staff was friendly and made me feel at home...

Natural & specialty grocery store, kitchenwares, books, supplements, and cafe featuring organic coffees, smoothies, and lunch served Tuesday - Friday.
Love this place! Fresh baked bagels, breakfast breads, interesting sandwich combos for lunch, great coffee. It's small but welcoming & the staff very helpful & friendly. The store is a good place to shop for organic ingredients & items for the kitchen.

The Fat mermaid sits on the waterfront with a great view of the harbor and mountains. Our culinary team loves preparing Alaska's best seafood, great pizzas, burgers, sandwiches of all kinds and awesome salads. Our breads are all made in house including ou
Considering they were crowded service was excellent and our food came in a relatively short time. I was really looking forward to something besides fish and chips but they were out of the fettuccine alfredo. They do have herbal tea which was a nice choice. The cod basket was your typical fried fish and chips fare. The salmon basket was pan seared and for $2.00 more you could upgrade to a side salad.

Saw the high review and dropped in. The burger tasted ok, but was very greasy as were the deep fried fries. All served in a basket - which I hate! Not cheap either. Added to this they had run-out of several things on the menu. Young guy running the place was very good at what he did.
