My partner and I chose Jay Fuâs to celebrate our anniversary. We had dinner at a Wednesday night and we had already reserved a table the day before. I recommend that you book beforehand as it can be busy even during weekdays. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. It is very centrally located and it has a gorgeous view over FyrisÃ¥n. The staff was very polite and especially the waitress that was assigned to our table made sure we were constantly happy. As for the food, we first shared an appetizer - the âmac and cheeseâ - which is to die for. Best dish of the whole night and I would return to Jay Fuâs even only for this. We had 2 main dishes, a âholy smokeâ and a âthree little pigsâ. Both were nice. The âholy smokeâ was a bit too peppery for my taste, but I tasted the three little pigs and it was really good. I was a bit surprised by the fact there was only one available option for rosé wine. For dessert, we had the âdo-nut stitch the applesâ and it was pretty tasty. Overall, I think that this is a really nice restaurant and a good option for a nice dinner out in Uppsala. I, personally, have had better dinners at other places in this city so I was a bit underwhelmed as Jay Fuâs is ranked #1 in Uppsala in Trip Advisor. I will definitely be back again, though, to taste other dishes. During a recent stay at the Clarion, we had the breakfast buffet included in our hotel room. The breakfast ends at 10:30 (to make way for the brunch service), so we made our way to the buffet around 9:50. At this point, nearly all of the buffet trays were completely picked over and mostly empty. Occasionally, staff would begrudgingly refill eggs or pancakes, but there was almost no fruits, cheese or salmon to be had. It was super disappointing as I have had breakfast at other Clarion's in Sweden, and it is usually quite nice. Here, it is apparent the brunch crowd takes priority and hotel guests are an afterthought. In Uppsala, I'd recommend staying at the Radisson Blu and having their breakfast instead!Hi Tdot90.Than you so much for taking the time to give us some feedback! We are so sorry to have left you feeling that the brunch is prioritised over our breakfast. We take much pride in our breakfast, and want to give our guest the best start possible! This time we obviously failed to deliver, I will make sure to talk to our breakfast manager so that this won´t happen again! We of course want to get a chance to give you a better experience, if you email me your adres I´d be happy to send you some breakfast vouchers!Have a great day /Rebeca [email protected]
Where to eat European food in Uppsala: The Best Restaurants and Bars
American BBQ made from scratch! Everything is smoked in a low and slow manner for hours and hours at the location.
Well worth the round trip to Stenhagen. First timers? Definitely go for the mixed grill. For me the beef sandwich, 50-50 brisket/pulled beef and coleslaw in a fresh bread roll, is probably the closest thing to a perfect lunch you'll come across in Uppsala. If you're hungry ad a side of cornbread and You're set for the day!
