This establishment has a history of the old ganster days. Hence the name âBootleggersâ . Established by an old gangster who was â asked to leaveâ Chicago, this place was frequented by many big name gangsters of the day. Scenic beauty from the bar, and great food in the dining room. My favorite Supper Club in the area!

Wisconsin Supper Clubs are slowly disappearing as new dining concepts take hold and the younger generations look for experiences more in tune with âtheirâ lifestyle. My wife and I have always loved their ambiance and their old time style menus. So, on our trip with my wife's sisters to visit family in Wisconsin, we just had to at least sample one of these traditional Wisconsin dining venues! The Pine Tree Supper Club has a sign out front that states âFine Dining and Cocktailsâ and the building itself âlooks likeâ a Wisconsin supper club. The dining area of the Pine Tree Supper Club also screams âsupper clubâ with wood paneling, a salad bar and the feeling that itâs been there a long time. Unfortunately, we werenât hungry enough to really test out the menu. We were there for drinks and snacksâ¦skipping the ârealâ food on the menu. How about steak sandwiches, deep fried walleye, prime rib, bacon wrapped filets, stuffed shrimp and a 25 oz. sirloin... Almost all on-line reviews talk about the âhuge portionsâ! I took special note of one âheart stoppingâ luncheon special called âThe Spiritâ. It is an open faced sandwichâ¦toast layered with ham, mushrooms, asparagus spears and Hollandaise sauce loaded with melted mozzarella cheese over everything! But I digress. Back to our snacks... Everything we ordered was fried! We had deep fried cheese stuffed jalapenos, fried cheese, fried cauliflower, fried shrimp and fried onion rings! It was all plentiful and good too... FYI, the Pine Tree Supper Club reeks ânorth woodsâ ambiance! One wall was laden with lake trout trophies, typical decor for the supper club atmosphere⦠Itâs âthe lookâ. Other popular decorative elements in supper clubs are trophy bucks, turkey, bear, etc. and/or paddles, canoes, fishing poles, etc. Service was tops and some of the staff members had been working here for a long time...

This food is the type of place you may have been dreaming about, and the setting is pretty amazing. My girlfriend has been eating at this place for years, and although it is new to me, it is something that I definitely am excited about getting in the future.

This is the perfect stop for the single diner, couple, or family looking for a terrific dining experience and terrific food and terrific service. The only downside ... the menu has too much to choose from.

I wrote a review last year and couldn't wait until my visit to the Tomahawk, Wisconsin, area this year. My wife and I had breakfast at the Café almost everyday. It is better than I remember. The French Toast specials are truly gourmet. One morning we had the French Toast special of lemon chocolate ganache. The was something you might find in France. The chocolate sauce was home made. The biscuits and gravy were great. My wife had the corn beef hash one morning and she said it was the best ever. Be sure and get a side of the hash browns or the equally good American potatoes. This is the best food. I noticed the word is getting around as it was much busier than last year. The prices are so reasonable and service is excellent. The chef is a young man who is talented beyond his years. If he happens to make cup cakes get a bunch. If you don't have a bite to eat here you are missing the boat.

This is a special place-classy-and- food is great! This "supper club" is notches above most for Wisconsin Friday "fish fry." For us- well worth the 45 minute drive from Wausau. Classic north woods experience with great view of beautiful tree-lined lake from the bar or special experience on the deck, lakeside, nestled among the trees. Several Friday seafood choices. On main menu is walleye. Lightly breaded fried walleye was perfectly prepared and nicely spiced. Out of the ordinary zesty tartar sauce well-complemented the piping hot tasty walleye. Potato choices- baked, twice baked (excellent taste) or delicious home-made hash browns. New england clam chowder thick and excellent tasting. Good bar service and server very attentive. Overall excellent dining experience well worth another trip -soon- to enjoy again!

It doesn't look impressive from the outside but this local Cafe is excellent! Beautiful knotty pine decor with flat screens. Huge menu, good waitstaff, wonderful owners, very good food with generous portions for the price. Can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch.

We are open every day at 11 am. Sundays at 9 am. We offer delicious homemade recipes; sandwiches, burgers, salads, wraps, appetizers, Chicago Style Thin Pizza, Daily Homemade Soups & Chili, Friday Fish Fry served all day, Saturday Prime Rib Special, Sunda
First timers...nachos were like what I used to make in college ( shredded cheese melted on chips, and the cheese stuck to the plate) cod special was soggy. Husband said his burger was good, kids seemed to enjoy their kids burgers. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Not sure we will visit again, just not worth it. Highly disappointed â¹ï¸

the bier choices are pretty diverse and the few we tried were not bad. the service those is super super slow. it's very disorganized. you could tell a few people had worked there for a while and pretty much all the rest were in training. it just wasn't a great experience.
