Legendary Food, Legendary Service
The wait time is kept to a minimum with call ahead seating. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. The meal was brought out in a timely manner and made fresh. Overall experience was very satisfying and will definitely be returning.

Vacationing brought us to this delightful restaurants. We enjoyed chicken, hamburgers, and lots of potatoes in delicious side dishes. The servers were friendly and helpful in making food choices. We also loved the interior of this restaurant. It was light and inviting for conversation and fun. We will go back again.

First time trying Local Cuisine in Temple, Iâm heavily influenced by TripAdvisor reviews and decided to give this place a shot. Christie our server was great, we started off With Moscato, and Oyster Rockefellerâs. As our entree I ordered the Blackened Redfish, with a side of Truffle Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was crisp and creamy, while the Redfish tasted fresh. Being from the coast, Iâm always weary of having places advertise fresh fish and itâs actually frozen. Needless to say we will be back.

Their boneless wings are HUGE! Great food and a great alternative to the usual overpriced wing joints and at a reasonable price :)

We drove to our Grandsons T-Ball game...and to celebrate my older grandsonâs 10th Birthday. After the game we settled on BJâs Restaurant & Brewhouse. Fortunately...not much of a crowd so we were seated immediately. Friendly server with a quick drink order...then once we found our choices for kids and adults...we placed our order. My wife and I split the spaghetti and meatballs...kids ordered chicken strips, baby corndogs...and shrimp scampi.Waiter came back and said that they were OUT of spaghetti noodles...excuse me? I asked if they still had the noodles they make fettuccine out of...he said YES. So we had a never before made dish at BJâS...Fettuccine and meatballs.Other than that one little glitch...a great night for all. An expansive menu with a lot of dishes to choose from. Would recommend a try if you are in the area.Blessings,Vic

A Central Texas institution, Old Jody's Restaurant is legendary for its hand-breaded chicken fried steaks, homemade onion rings and the best cheeseburger for miles and miles. Family owned and operated for over 65 years, Old Jody's has built its reputation
We stopped for lunch after a visit to the VA. Casual, friendly place with mostly long tables seating 8. Throwback vision of Texas style small town diner. We ordered water to drink. Huge glasses with a small bowl of lemons on the side. I ordered a cheeseburger, but would have preferred Swiss cheese, all they ever have is American cheese. Tasty juicy burger. Hubby ordered chicken fried chicken. Came with a tossed salad and tomatos. The blue cheese dressing was very good. Chicken was tender and crispy, although the crunchy coating was falling off. Fries appeared to be homemade with some skin still on. They do not accept credit cards.

Fresh. Seasonal. Local.
Absolutely this is the best I ever had. The hollandaise sauce is to die for. Great size portion given.

I think the one between San Antonio and Austin is bigger (billed as the biggest convenience store in the world) but this place can't be missed if you're driving on the I-35. Pros: clean restrooms, cheap gas, lots of parking, an endless array of road snack options, and even souvenirs if you're traveling from out-of-state.It seems crazy that I'm giving a truck stop 5 stars but it's equal parts rest stop and experience. Apparently everything is bigger in Texas!

We ate here with 11 family members for lunch. Several had the sausage plate lunch special. Most of the others had the sausage burger. I cannot remember if the menu gave the option of lettuce and tomato, But that would have been good on the sausage burger. We enjoyed our meal. Then some had kolaches for dessert. They are tall and bready with the filling and the streusel topping. They taste like a great kolaches, not a Danish roll like so many other places. The prices are reasonable with friendly servers. It is worth the drive from Temple.
