Buckets & Brews is at the moment closed due to an illness in the family. However, the restaurant is still open to catering large groups on a case by case basis. They handle the food for the Cherohala Challenge and other large group events, weddings, family reunions, etc. Their food is excellent and they have beer which is kept ice cold.
A great stop at the gateway to the Cherohala Parkway, this recently reopened diner was conveniently on the square and open on a Monday. The venue has indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate about 100 folks total. We enjoyed handmade burgers and french fries that were served promptly and with a smile. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer a dinner menu with live blue grass music. We would happily return.
Annually we take off to the Cherohala Skyway when the fall leaves are peaked above 3,000 feet. This year we decided to stay at the Lodge at Tellico for the two days we spend color watching. Our room was clean, comfortable and pleasant. The decor is rustic, but new and enjoyable. The breakfast wasn't wonderful, but we got an early start to see the leaves. We stay here again.

Family owned and managed, offers excellent homemade pizza, other specialties including country meals with two vegetables, homemade bread including corn bread, salads, quiet off the main beat location, historical town square of Tellico Plains, interior dec
What an interesting interior. Walls plastered with many antique cooking related items & other oddities. Outside was certainly not inviting. We were thinking about leaving but decided to stay. We were greeted warmly by I believe owner. Lunch was not served till 12 and it was 11:30 so we had breakfast. We all agreed the omletes were the best we had ever had - period! Each had a different kind. Hot biscuits also included - yummy. Although bakery in it's name, very limited amount but they did look great. We were assured that everything was made fresh daily. This is a good stop believe me for breakfast. Can't say anything about other meals.

We ate here for the first time, this Saturday evening, & we will definitely be returning. The service was just as excellent as the food. We can recommend the Ironworks Burger with it's two parties, cheddar cheese, bacon jam, & fried green tomatoes. Yum! Yum! The Smoked Chicken breast & homemade pork rinds were fantastic, as well. And you'll definitely want to try the Bacon-wrapped Fried Pickles. Man! What a treat! Great atmosphere, great view, great everything. We can't wait to go back!!

Tellico Plains isn't on your way to anywhere, but bikers seem to flock here. I'm not talking about the TV biker gang types, I'm talking about the everyday people who love to ride. One of the destinations we all want to ride to is the Cherohala Skyway, and this is where it starts.I strongly urge everyone to visit the Tellicafe before your ride!We were greeted as we walked in by our waitress, Susan. She is remarkable! Susan was juggling about seven different things all at once and was doing it with a smile and outright laughter. And if the excellent service wasn't enough, the food was OUTSTANDING!!! While the other three at my table enjoyed a burger, chicken strip, or salad, I went for the Grits Stuffed Grilled Pork Chop. Wow! it was amazing. cooked perfectly, still juicy, and tender.I know that this flatlander won't be able to stay away from the Smokie Mountains forever, and when I go back I will definitely go to the Tellicafe again.Ron, Thank you VERY much for coming back to Tellicafe. It is always our pleasure to serve you and we all appreciate you and your friends. We also appreciate the wonderful rating and the GREAT compliments. We can't wait till your next ride so we can see you and serve you again, I assure you it is our pleasure. Be safe, Have fun and HURRY BACK !Rich

Tellico Kats menu features hot and cold custom sandwiches, paninis, salads, and seasonal soups. Enjoy breakfast wraps and baked treats too. Save room for the homemade desserts... specialty cakes, pies, cookies and our baker's whims! Lunches prepared to go
We live in Tellico Plains and have always loved to sit on their porch overlooking the river for lunch. But then the owners decided to retire and close or sell the restaurant. We were very saddened. But then just when they were going to close, a person bought the restaurant. The place was not even closed one day. And the food is still great. We are so happy. They serve deli sandwiches and their own special cole slaw and desserts. They also sell a variety of crafts, books, and local guides. So now we can still watch the trout and turtles in the river while we eat our lunch. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Every once in a while we may see a great blue heron or bsld eagle.
