This is a nice little coffee shop in downtown East Tawas / Tawas City. The proprietor stated they only opened this past summer, but it seemed like business was going well. The coffee and latte's here were brewed fresh, and were very good. Here's to hoping business treats this place well!

This is becoming one of our regular stops whenever we're in the Tawas area. Tonight we both had Shrimp Del Rey. Marinated shrimp, cooked on a skewer on a bed of wild rice. Delicious. Two craft beers, one hard cider for wife, two shrimp del Rey. Total bill under $50

Over the past 6 months I have had the pleasure of spending time in Tawas City/East Tawas on business. âBarnyâsâ is my go-to. The bar staff is outstanding. Special shout out to Haley, Darian, Morgan, and Shannon! The food there is very good as well. Highly recommend.
Home town owners, great food and friendly service. Dinner portions are generous, homemade potato and macaroni salad available for sides. Hawaiian pizza is the best with bacon, ham, pineapple and cherries upon request. Now serving beer and wine, along with limited cocktail menu. Extremely clean and spacious.

We stopped in here for lunch, but won't be back. I ordered a 1/3 pound burger with homemade chips. What was supposed to be 'medium-well' was so over-cooked and dry that I couldn't eat all of it, although the bun was fresh. The homemade chips were also over-cooked.

Good food. Especially the whitefish. Itâs a typical family joint where most food is friend. Simple, but tasty dishes. We went in the Friday if Labor Day and the place was packed and short staffed. It took 15 mins to get a drink order, another 35 for food and 15 more to flag someone down for the check. Wait staff nice, just simply overworked/overwhelmed.

New restaurant in the former Chum's Bar location. Pretty good food.
First time there, always looked like fun place. Ate inside and there was no ambience in the dining room. It wasnât as clean as we like a restaurant to be(including the ladies room). The food was good and so was the waitress, but just didnât click. Donât think weâd go back.
The Blue Heron Cafe features a selection of coffee, cappuccino, latte & espresso, including specialty drinks all made with fair-trade organic locally roasted coffee ground in-house. Home of The Cherry Bomb, an espresso that tastes like a Chocolate Covered
Iâve visited The Blue Heron Cafe twice now and both times the service and food were great. The bagel sandwiches are very good and the portion size was perfect. Iâve also tried the Mock-accino and a Carmel Latte and both were awesome! The staff is very friendly and welcoming and you can browse the Alabaster Corner stores while you wait.

I have reviewed the WHITE TAIL CAFE previously, but I want to stress how much I like this restaurant. It is not fancy. It closes too early (2:00 p.m. daily). It does not have the most comfortable seating. However, it does have great food for breakfasts and lunches. The service is also very good.My favorite food is the Flint-style coney islands. Excellent!

The Boathouse is a great find in northern Michigan! This restaurant was fantastic. The interior of the place is very classy, with some bar-area seating, and more traditional dining seating adjacent. Getting a table near the large windows looking out over Lake Huron is simply beautiful, and a wonderful ambience...the views are gorgeous. There are also a couple of tables available outside on the front porch/deck. The staff here was wonderful. My server was very friendly, and made for a great experience. The food was very good. I had a baked fish dish for the special, and enjoyed the entire meal. The drink list here is also excellent; I particularly liked the "Don Johnson" drink, based on whiskey, Michigan maple syrup, and bacon bits...it really was a fantastic drink. I also had a beer sampler, and overall the beer was so-so. But, I appreciated that the beer was made onsite, and the other drink options were fantastic.I can't wait to go back.
