They have very good food and we have always had very friendly service. We have eaten here about a dozen times, mostly lunch. Their lunch specials are great, such as homemade chicken pot pie. They have fresh homemade bread and good homemade soups. I think the hour listed here may not be correct. I believe they are currently closed on Mondays.

My sister, who knows the Turnaround Cafe owner, suggested we have lunch here after a morning at Enchanted Forest. What a great idea! This cafe is a true homegrown treasure, and we had a short wait for a table because the cafe was already filled with happy people enjoying delicious meals from a thoughtfully crafted menu. I chose the quinoa salad (comes with a gluten free scone), and it was just the perfect meal for me.I happily would drive from Corvallis to eat here again, especially since it is located only about four miles east of I-5. The breakfast menu is offered until closing time, and I might just have the oatmeal pancakes for lunch next time I'm there.

We stopped in our our way home from Silver Falls. What a find! The menu has something for everyone, and we decided to share a BLT, so we would have room for marionberry pie. Good choice! The waitresses were both friendly ad attentive. Our lunch was just right!
We were on our way on a five day trip and stopped at Billy Jo's for breakfast about an hour into our trip. Upon entering this café, we had the feeling that maybe this was not the best selection of places. However, once we were seated and our server (also the chef) greeted us and made us very comfortable right off. We asked if he was Billy Jo; he laughed and said no, that BJ was dead! We all had a good laugh at that (sorry, Billy Jo). We all ordered the usual American breakfast. I had the bacon & cheese omelet with potatoes. We were surprised by the swiftness of our order brought to our table. All of the food was hot and very tasty. All in all, it was just a fine place to have a nice breakfast.

I have had several meals provided by the Wooden Nickel over the years at catered events. Those meals have never been the typical large event (200+ people) "rubber chicken" type meals. This week I met friends at the Sublimity restaurant for an early dinner. We started with a Nacho plate as a appetizer (a meal in itself). A couple of us had the Southern Fried Oysters with loaded baked potato, veggie, cold slaw, and bread for dinner. The Oysters were dipped in a corn based Cajun seasoned mixture and then deep fried to perfection. A little less salt in that mix would have been even better. But the dozen small to medium oysters on each serving were very well cooked and presented. Another of our group had a Pork Belly Po'boy with cold slaw on the side. No crumbs were left there and it was declared very good. Portions size was large and sharing a plate of oysters for the smaller appetites is a good option. We still took home quite a bit of most things. Homemade bread also came with the meal. I will definitely visit again, given the opportunity. The meals I have had that were catered by the Wodden Nickel were also top quality with tasty selections. The prices at the restaurant were reasonable and the catering menu prices were also good. Sorry, I didn't get pictures, to interested in visiting and eating.
What to do and see in Stayton, United States: The Best Places and Tips
This place had been Kelly's till it changed hands this summer. The food is still good and the prices are reasonable. The biggest problem is that for some reason, they are not always open. I think they are only open a few days a week for dinner but they aren't always there for breakfast or lunch. There is not a lot of seating and the kitchen is small so when the crowd gets very large, things slow down and you can't always get a seat either. So, I would recommend Scallywags but you should have a backup plan in case they aren't open. We have only been there for breakfast so I can't comment on their lunch or dinner menu.

there was a disappointment at the place. I had Jalepeno/cottage cheese breadstick and a pizza containing pepperoni, sausage, olives, onion, and pineapple. The marinara sauce was good; You order the food and then sit down; very quaint place; delicious food. It was the best breadsticks I ever tasted and probably the second best pizza I ever ate in Oregon; service was really great but I probably would not go back because the background music (if you are into Christian contemporary music by all means I would recommend it) was a big turnoff. Maybe I should have put my headphones on and listen to some other music while eating. Seating is small but I came at a good time.

We like the food here, and the service is friendly, but the kitchen is S L O W .It is typical to wait twenty minutes or more for your meal, even when they are not busy. They are spoiled by not having any competition in town.

This particular A&W Restaurant is regarded by the locals as a good place to grab a bite to eat and fill the tank with as many carbs as is necessary. Don't get me wrong they are pretty tasty carbs if that what your looking for. This place has a steady crowd frequenting it and has been around for many decades. When it's busy - service gets a little slow - so be patient. The menu has a variety of "American" foods to select from but then you should know what to expect from an A&W Restaurant. The quality of the foods is usually base on high standards of preparation. Drive in and enjoy the great American dining experience.
