Reviews on American food in Snowshoe, West Virginia, United States. Whether visiting Snowshoe for its well-known ski resort, cultural attractions, or off-season outdoor activities, you are sure to have a great time in this family friendly mountain area. The name Snowshoe itself conjures images of fresh powdery snow, and it holds true to that image with Snowshoe Mountain Resort, where you can ski the day away. Snowshoe Mountain Tubing Park has areas for snowboarding and tubing as well, so you can enjoy the mountain snow whichever way you like. If you are there off season or would rather enjoy some snow-free activities, the Raven Golf Club has a dramatic 18-hole championship style golf course where you can enjoy all the mountain beauty there is to offer while working on your game. Pamper yourself with a day at Spa Vantage, or spend a day with the family at the Big Top amusement park.
Things to do in Snowshoe
As to be expected it's expensive. Like $12 for three Dasani waters expensive. However the chili and sandwiches are good and fresh. We also had the potato bar and it was good. $40 for lunch for 1 adult and two kids. Burgers are good too. Ate those on another day. I will eat here again, I just have to forget about money when I go in. There's wifi there. That's a bonus.
This little cabin at the bottom of the Western Territory is a great, cozy spot that feels almost adult only because of the difficult terrain. People down there were living it up and it feels kind of like an outdoor party/cookout, especially with the mild weather we have. Snowshoe's little gem.
This is a typical ski shack restaurant at the base of the Silver Creek ski area. It is easy to access, warm, rustic and has bathrooms for diners. Their chili and soups are great and our kids rave about their hot cocoa. Nice beer selection is also available. Good place to stop and rest!

If you are staying in Snowshoe for more than one night chances are you'll end up here for dinner at least once. It's a bigger more spacious place and relatively uncrowded - there's almost never a wait. Food here a bit less pricy and fairly reliable although unremarkable. This time we had the wedge salad, burger and chili, all adequate, quite acceptable for a casual meal in a relatively quiet and relaxed environment.

Not fancy, not quick, not cheap, but food was good when it finally got there. We arrived about 6:00 and it was already busy and noisy, but looked like it would get even louder since they were setting up for music. We ordered the âLoaded Lonnieâ pizza with red sauce instead of the cream sauce and I have to say it was the best pizza Iâve had in a long time. Took 1 1/2 hours, but not many choices in the area. Watched the flies buzz around while we waited.

Nothing exciting but perfectly acceptable option for lunch or snack while out on the slopes. Burgers are fine. BBQ is pretty good. Decent selection. Pretty quick service. Discount offered to pass holders. Only one bathroom for each sex and they werenât clean....and always a line to use.

Appalachia Kitchen creates farm-to-table Modern American cuisines for fresh, innovative American food with an Appalachian flare for your stay in Snowshoe, WV.
We ate at Appalachia Kitchen and our meal was the best that I have had in Snowshoe in as long as I can remember. We had a big group and ordered Scallops, Carpaccio and Baked Brie for Appetizers and all were out quickly and cooked/presented perfectly. Then one couple split a house salad and another the Cobb and both were great, especially the homemade Dressings!! Then we ordered the Filet, Grouper and Pork Chop among us and everyone loved there meal. We had the Croissant Bread Pudding for dessert which was delicious and then took advantage of the Gelato selections at the Pizza Slice in the same Corduroy Inn complexWe had Hillary as our server and she was awesome...super nice, friendly and very attentive to us!! We had a great experience and kudos to the chef, kitchen team and Hillary for an amazing experience.

Route 66 is located at the bottom of Snowshoe mountain and is not part of the Snowshoe resort
The question marks are because I don't even know what to call this place. They serve food. They have all sorts of touristy knick knacks. They rent ski/snowboard equipment (we'll definitely rent here instead of on the mountain the next time). They sell furniture (upstairs). They sell clothing. They sell fudge. Probably more than that. And, it's located right next to a stream which you see out the windows.Breakfast all day. Sandwiches and pizzas. I had a breakfast platter. The ham was shaved ham. My son had a pizza. None of it award winning but it was fine. This definitely has the feel of a locals place or a place that visitors return to again and again. It just grows on you while you are there.Service throughout was good. The folks that work here are just really nice. When we're in the area again, I'm sure we'll stop by.

Our server was very nice and friendly. The nachos were fabulous and my husband loved the tacos. I very pleased to see vegetarian options.

Came here twice for dinner on this visit to Snowshoe - second time because we got snowed in so had to spend an extra night. If you get here early the wait is not bad - both times we got seated almost right away just before 6. Not that there are a lot of dining choices on the mountain but this is a good restaurant worth repeated visits regardless of where it's located. As usual I had ribs - which dependably stay the same year after year. Also tried the chicken quesadilla on second night, very good as well. Huge portions so had leftovers serving as lunch the next day - good deal.
