I almost never wait in line at a restaurant, but I could see by the plates getting delivered that it was worth the wait and I was NOT disappointed! Perfectly cooked eggs, crunchy hash browns, homemade salsa, and homemade GRITS swimming in butter! The staff moves people in and out quickly and efficiently, coffee was always full, prices very reasonable.

I thoroughly enjoy dining here; it's right on the water overlooking the water where one can watch sea lions playing, it has a casual vibe, the service is good, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. And, of course, the food is delicious. I don't get down to Monterey too often, so I ordered copious amounts of food and enjoyed it all. First, the sand dabs are cooked perfectly and are served with a nice tartare sauce; the meat was moist and tender and it's nice as an appetizer that is sufficient for two. I had the grilled fish sandwich; the bread was fresh and there was plenty of fish making it a tasty sandwich. And their strawberry shortcake is amazing; enough for two, it had sweet ripe strawberries and plenty of whipped cream and cream anglaise. The cake was fresh and it was one of the best shortcakes I've ever had. We came on a Sunday afternoon at around 1:30; we found parking right on the wharf next to the restaurant and there was no wait for a table for two. It was all quite a good experience. I look forward to the next time I can make it here.

Around 8:30pm on a week day it was hard to find a restaurant open in Central Monterey. Read good reviews and decided to try Montrio with no expectation. It was a very good experience. Bustling diners at that time they, all looked as satisfied as us. I recommend the duck breast.

We went on a Thursday night (7ish?) and we were seated immediately! When served fresh bread and butter we ordered our drinks and Garlic Fries to start. Had a wait on the drinks but they did not disappoint when they finally arrived. Ordered the Ribeye (although prices have gone up from the menu listed by TripAdvisor menu ...it's a 14 ounce steak for $32) and it was worth every penny! The Meat was tender, trimmed well and was served with a blue cheese butter melting on top. Twice baked potatoes and seasonal veggies (carrots and zucchini) rounded off the meal and we were just too full to even look at the desert selections. We will definitely be back and really enjoyed this meal.

Loulou's Griddle in the Middle is the tiny diner on Wharf #2. We always say we're "tiny but mighty." We cook with a lot of heart, soul, and deep care about every detail. We aim to make your experience comfortable, fun, delicious, and a little like being a
We stumbled across LouLouâs by chance, and saw the quirky shack, with a queue! - Worth the wait (they take your number and just call when the tableâs free) , amazing staff, busy, food is delicious. We hit LouLouâs for breakfast and you wonât be disappointed!! - Perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients, and good portions! Go if youâre in Monterey!

Googie Grill has a menu of American favorites and a casual vibe that seems perfect for local family and tourists. We had a good, not great, dinner there. Nothing was bad, nothing was special. The place is comfortable, though the layout (a converted diner) is a bit odd. There was a board of specials for lunch and dinner and a variety of choices on the menu. We enjoyed it but I doubt, if we lived closer, we'd go back.

Enjoy our gourmet Monterey Beach restaurant with your own "window on the bay". For a truly unique dining experience, escape to the Cafe Beach Restaurant; a remote, romantic retreat so serene that the hypnotic sounds of the pounding surf can only be broken
Located in the Monterey Tides hotel. We have not ever had anything bad here. Breakfast/Lunch is from 7 to 2 and then they open back up from 5 to 10 for dinner. It is a Latin inspired menu take. The views are killer and so relaxing. The menu is nice a simple. Service is decent and a place you take your time and enjoy every moment.

Every Black Bear Diner believes in two things â fantastic service and delicious food. Thatâs why we go out of our way to find the greatest employees that Monterey has to offer and make them a part of our family. You can see the camaraderie in every step t
This was exactly as expected from an American diner, we were staying in the area for 1 night so came here for breaky. The plates are HUGE! Could have been half the size and we still would have had enough! The food was lovely, service was great, couldnât fault it.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants when visiting the area, however, now it is just average. The 'red' sauce used as a base for most of their pastas & fish dishes is thin and bland. The bread they serve is like Wonder bread rolls and when you're in 'sourdough country', why not serve a decent bread? The grilled baby octopus was overcooked and cold; pasta w/ mussels only fair; artichoke just OK; Rio Grille has the best! Probably the best thing to order is grilled fish - nothing w/ sauces. But coming from the east coast we eat a lot of fish and wanted local fare. The atmosphere is frenetic w/ the waiters rushing through taking orders & serving. And speaking about the waiters, make sure you ask the price of their specials or any change you might make w/ your order (our waiter advised me to order the appetizer size half fried calamari/half Sicilian which should have cost about $15 and he charged us $19) because prices tend to be quite high. The prices which are not listed on the menu appear to be at the discretion of the waiter; keep in mind that their tips are dependent on the amount of your bill. We will not be going back.

Homey, friendly, outstanding food and service. Try the homemade corned beef hash - just perfect. Coffee hot and constantly and cheerfully refilled... a definite go to!
