Find out what American restaurants to try in Roskilde. Home to the four-day Roskilde Festival, arguably the best European rock festival, hilly Roskilde is less than 20 miles from Copenhagen. If hordes of rock stars aren't pillaging the town of 50,000, the excellent Viking ship museum is Roskilde's prime attraction. Featuring five ships discovered at the bottom of the fjord, you can add to the Viking experience by rowing the fjord on an hour-long longboat trip. The town is also famed for its much adapted 12th-century Roskilde Domkirke Cathedral.

If you are visiting Roskilde and mentally up to a delicious RIB-EYE steak with bearnaise sauce, then THIS RESTAURANT IS THE PLACE. Their steaks are fantastic. A good advice : The prices are quite reasonable, but choose to pay "a Little extra", because this will give you the very best experience. Order Salad bar (a wide range of Salads and more).

Tasty burgers where you can choose from many kinds of bread and different contents. However, you should avoid sitting close to the entrance door as there will be a lot of cold from the door.

For great cozy coffee shop atmosphere this place is perfect. The menu in the cafe is limited to a few choices, but the ones I've had are all excellent. It is a relaxing place to chat, enjoy a simple meal or hear live music (check the schedule). Gimle is non-profit therefore they keep their prices low. Cheap cup of coffee (with FREE refills which is mostly unheard of in Denmark!) Beer prices are also definitely cheaper than elsewhere. There is also a rotund which books bands and charge an entrance fee, but the rotund is definitely more geared to older teens, younger 20 somethings.
