Canal Street Cafe is locally owned and operated. Our food is from scratch and we strive to use Michigan products. Our bar is fully stocked with Michigan micro brews on draught. (Which change all the time) Please check out our chalk board for the daily fea
Joined friends for dinner on a Saturday evening based on theirs and other recommendations. Also many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. The place was very busy, but we were given a table close to the door almost immediately. Took some time for a server, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the limited wine list, to approach our table. She took our drink orders and disappeared for quite some time. Read the menu and specials listed on the board while waiting. I had been told their steaks were amazing and people went out of their way to go there just for that reason. When server finally reappeared with our drinks, she asked if there were any questions and were we ready to order? Bread and water still not offered. We all ordered a salad plus our entrees. The bread is baked in house and when we finally received, it was delicious. Salads were okay, but nothing remarkable. I did order a steak, based on recommendations. Served with 'fluffy' mashed potatoes and green beans. While the temperature of steak was perfect and it was tender, it was unfortunately nothing remarkable and lacking in flavor. I adore mashed potatoes and these were sadly heavy and gummy and a blob on the plate. The green beans were 'crunchy'. I'm not impressed with the penchant for crunchy under-cooked vegetables being served currently. Others in the party said their meals were 'okay'. I realize it was a busy evening, but our server was rarely seen and it was difficult getting further drinks. Possibly they were understaffed that evening? I was really looking forward to our meal, and was disappointed. If asked, I will return to give them another try. Maybe it was an off night.

Stopped in Memorial Day weekend to check out new facility and have dinner. Facility is nice also unique layout for bar/restaurant. Didn't tour, but seems more seating outside than inside. Will be interesting how that works with Michigan weather. But, great to see investment and fit out quality is good.It was busy given new building and holiday weekend and seemed like they were very well staffed.Pizza was consistent with Ned's historically. Other food quality was disappointing. A burger ordered well done was served medium at best. Fries tasted like they were left over from lunch. Tap water is clearly unfiltered well water. I hesitate to write a poor review of a local business, but suggest the new building may increase expectations and our experience was the food quality didn't match. We will try them again, but more for bar than food.

This is an operating diner on the grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum. It is just like the diners of old. most of which have disappeared, regrettably. Yep, I shot a couple of photos; yep, I forgot to retrieve them for this review. Nostalgic decor, and even the staff wear uniforms of a bygone era. There were two on staff, one serving the booths, and the other behind the counter. Our visit was on a Tuesday afternoon, not crowded. We were pressed for time because of an engagement two hours away, and ultimately decided to forego an entree, but to carry out a couple of wedges of pie (peach and apple that day) instead. It is a nice place, not too pricey as I recall it, and I would even stop in again if in the area.
Place was packed. Walked in to order and no one at register to take the order. Very odd. Then after 6 min took order.Standing room only.Fast food... Ahh no! Took 45 min to get 3 burgers and fries! Won't stop here again. I've had better. Burger looked thrown together. Fries were hard. Not a great experience :/
Actually ate in a Richland MI location. Don't know if this is the same. Good food, friendly quick service, reasonable prices. Breakfast and dinner selections available all day.

Had a good time with family and friends, service was perfect for as busy as it was with live music and a full dance floor. No complaints from us...We will return soon.

When East Egg Richland first opened it was clean, friendly and the food and service were great. But the last couple of times I've been it's been dirty, food wasn't that great and service was just OK.

We've been disappointed that last two times we have been here. They have dropped really good items from their menu and have discontinued some of the touches that made the restaurant special. The food is good and the service is good, but no longer outstanding like it once was.

Well, it would be if grandma had a huge bar with plenty of adult beverages, and several friendly, competent, and efficient waitresses! The food at The Pub would make any grandma proud. From starters, to soup, sandwiches of all varieties, and main plates, everything is well prepared, well presented, and always delicious. I particularly enjoy their Clam Basket, Fish Sandwich, and one of my all-time favorites, Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with French Fries all smothered in beef gravy!

This was our 3rd time here, our 2nd for lunch and we were not disappointed. If you go you have to try the Miller Margarita.... Its out of this world and the food and service were top-notch. Our server Carrie( which we had once before) was very good and friendly. The bread pudding was out of this world and among the best I have ever had, and I don't really care for bread pudding. If you go for dinner it is best to make reservation and the place is somewhat small. Will be going back again to try more great dishes ! Thanks Kitchen House !! 2 thumbs up !!
