Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, has the tall buildings, neon lights and crowded streets of many cities, but also a multicultural Caribbean character and a homegrown calypso soundtrack. The best-known occasion is the flamboyant pre-Lenten Carnival. Among the city's other offerings are cricket and football matches, year-round festivals, a botanic garden, malls, an art and history museum and historic buildings. Entertainment options abound, but be cautious after dark.
Things to do in Port of Spain
Part lounge, pub, nightclub, outdoor deck and poor representation of all. Overcrowded with most people just standing around staring at each other. No true dance floor with makeshift spots in the lounge area where the lighting prevents a mood to encourage dancing from being set. Bartenders are knowledgeable, quick but are too few to handle the drink orders of patrons and table servers leading to pile ups at the bar. Can be better if it decides what type of space it wants to be and just be the best at that.

Big Rolph is one of the cleanest food trucks I've visited! The menu was varied and allowed for a both vegetarians and non vegetarians to participate. The wait time wasn't very long and the staff was very friendly while taking my order and even gave me quick updates (such as just 5 minutes more) to my wait time. The food was definitely tasty! Well seasoned and very flavorful. I will be returning soon!

Trader Jack's Island Grill is a great casual restaurant and bar. Visited on four occasions and the food and drinks were consistent in terms of quality. I would recommend it for lunch or casual dinner with friends or teens. Drinks and appetizers as an option is also a choice off of the menu.
Bubbles Blends and Basics, more popularly referred to as B3, is a small Wine & Spirits shop and cafe located at The Hotel Normandie.
We found this urban oasis of a wine bar whilst staying at the Hilton and having to walk up to the Normandie Hotel for the pool every day. This is a hidden gem in Port of Spain for any wine lovers. The selection of wines is incredible and the quality is exceptional. Prices are very reasonable too. We enjoyed several Chardonnays including a sublime 2009 Chablis and some very nice Spanish Whites. They also serve dinner here too and we would highly recommend lunch here for any true Cosmopolitans - what nice owners and staff - fantastic hosts. Thank you!

This visit was a celebration. Although reservations were made ahead of time, seating arrangements had to be adjusted on two occasions. The staff were friendly. Always checking our needs. Some meals took a little longer to arrive that others. Some were given to the wrong persons, but quickly adjusted. Other than that and the noisy atmosphere one can enjoy themselves.

This place is amazing. Wonderful location with parking if you have a car and wonderful food. Very professional attentive waiters, best we have come across in Trinidad and Tobago and quick and efficient service. Beautiful interiors again best we have come across.Delicious food so much so we had 2 lunches at the pub bar downstairs. Quite reasonable priced too given the quality. If youâre lucky Jenny herself might wander over to say hi and sheâs an amazing hostess. Highly recommended.

We have visited 4 times since introduction of their new menu and Iâm not happy to report that the consistency and standards have dropped somewhat. Iâm confused as to why they would remove popular items to make room for unenticing things. Some changes mystify me like removal of crab cakes from their menu! We used to love their crab cakes and would go there just to have them. But it is certainly not because they no longer stock crab meat, as they still offer crab wantons! How bizarre! We also loved their fried onion bloom with various dipping sauces and that has gone too. Such a simple and quick-preparation item, and poofâ¦disappeared from the menu! Also, there are long-preparation items on the menu now like the two sushi rolls, but it is often not available as perhaps only certain chefs on duty can prep those special items. And when they do have it, youâve got to really love it bad to wait for it as it takes at least 45 minutes to prepare! Iâm confused as to why they would remove simple-prep offerings and add items that require more time and effort to prepare? It just doesnât make any sense to me. I still love the staff and would love to continue giving them my support but as my husband would sayâ¦.âwhy change something that doesnât need changing?â There used to be a nice football vibe in Trotters on a Saturday and on this occasion, we walked in with no game on the main screen (yes, believe it or not!) and whilst they were willing to put on what we wanted to see in our dining area, there was zero volume. Gone is the upbeat music too so the place just seems dead and of now lacks the vibrant atmosphere. I would honestly say that Iâm a fan of the old Trotters. Bring back the old Trotters please!

I can never eat all I get on my plate although it's light fare.Wait staff could be a bit more vigilant but it's a chilled out spot so you are a bit more tolerant unless you're super hungry.Tasty club sandwiches and the spicy wings are good.Great place to meet with friends if you don't want to leave the hotel.Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
