This is right across the street from the American Clock and Watch Museum. We were eager to go the museum so this seemed like a good fit. It turned out to be a very good choice. They close at two and we slipped in a shade before and they were still gracious and welcoming. We both had the Philly Cheese Steak which we enjoyed immensely. Perfectly seasoned beef with cheese onions and peppers served on a fresh grinder roll. Our server, Taylor was pleasant and accommodating. The cafe' is bigger then it looks as there are two rooms decorated with some interesting pieces as well as clocks in keeping with the museum. Perfect choice for lunch before or after the museum.

Bit disappointed for breakfast by price and service-- wonderful nostalgic diner style, needs de cluttering, but still great cool style. Waitress was not as friendly as once remembered, which sets the overall atmosphere. I'd probably return, food quality was good.

Small diner off the main drag is a great find for non-regulars. Our server estimated that about 90% of the customers are regulars.Once we found the diner, we also found very good interesting food combined with equally good service. Both of us ordered off he regular menu (see photo of specials menu). My wife had a veggie scramble - cut up veggies mixed into scrambled eggs. Served with home fries and toast. There was more than plenty of veggies in the eggs. It was also well prepared and nicely seasoned. My wife summed it up with "Yummy!".I went for the the French Toast Sandwich - yes sandwich! It was one of several very interesting brunches. It consists of scrambled eggs, cheese, ham and bacon between two slices of French toast. It was delicious, but I had to ask how it's normally eaten. Our server advised that some eat it as a sandwich, but most put on syrup and use a fork. I liked the latter way better.Speaking of our server, she was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. She took the time to explain some of the unique items and made sure our coffee was always refilled before we asked. This is the kind of place that was meant for people who prefer not to frequent the formula-food big chain restaurants. And the cost was at the lower end of what we normally spend for brunch. We'll be back.

Nice clean diner with great food at good prices! And they take order over the phone and will deliver! Don't leave out the free fixin's on your grinder or sandwich. Have to try the soups next.

Pat Miceli's 50 WEST has re-opened after transition from 50 WEST to a short-lived experiment as BOB RAMEN and now back to 50 WEST. We attended the grand re-opening. Familiar decor with friendly staff. There is outside patio dining which is excellent! (Few outside seats at D'Amico's/JV Taproom but I do not recall others in Plainville.)Happy hour drinks and apps inexpensive and tasty ($3-9). Fried ravioli was nice with dipping sauce. Fried goat cheese balls also with a honey type sauce-delicious. Brussels sprouts with Sriacha and a honey dip, very nice. Ribs and cheese sandwich on thick toast delicious and very filling. Wings well-done and tasty. St. Gems in cocktail was light and done well.Salad with watermelon and mint was a good portion, light and tasty. Will need to re-visit to try remainder of menu. So far it is a good re-start.

We've never had a bad meal here and the portions are generous. Staff are also very friendly. So many favorites to choose from and the specials are always inspired and tasty. We also enjoy that when we come here the restaurant is set up so that you can enjoy conversation with your dinner partners. Some restaurants are so loud you can't carry on a conversation without yelling. One of our favorites!

We recently went here with several couples and had great meals. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. The staff was attentive even though it was a busy night. The restaurant is BYOB but does serve soda. Most of us took food home and can't wait to go back!

The hallmark of The Cottage is their rotating menu. Right now, there is a lot of fish on the summer menu. All the ingredients are so fresh and every meal--I was there for dinner with five other people--looked delicious. As one reviewer stated, never had a bad meal there. Serving staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Didn't have room for dessert, but the coffee was outstanding.

We had passed this restaurant many times because it is very conveniently located to a shopping area and cinema where we frequently go. We wanted to try someplace different for our anniversary lunch so we chose J. Timothy's Taverne. We were very pleased with the colonial pub atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu is eclectic -- so many choices! We both ordered the open-face crab melt sandwich with onion straws as the side. Delicious, and just the right portion size. We will definitely visit J Timothy's again soon to try some more of the many tempting offerings.
