We had the Sunday brunch here recently and it was AWESOME! Everything you would expect (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage grave, corissant egg sandwich, fruit) AND pork ribs and a pork sandwich slider. BUT wait there more - these wonderful FRESH sweet rolls with really good coffee. Nice job you guys.

Fantastic food at a reasonable price! This place is probably the most expensive place to eat in Lake City, but it's worth every penny. Four of us ate here last Friday. We made reservations and were seated right away. Every one of us loved what we ordered. Seafood Paella, Lamb chops, crab cakes, scallops, calamari, and beet salad. All were wonderful! That Paella...holy Hannah is that some amazing stuff! I was the last one to finish my meal because I was savoring every single bite of this dish. I highly recommend it. I think the next time I come here I'll order the lamb chops if available. I was amazed at the amount of meat on the plate and they were perfectly cooked medium rare.If you're a bourbon drinker, check the drink menu. While they don't have a huge menu, they do have some quality picks (Baker's, Basil Haden, Makers, Knob Creek) at a lower prices than most places. My suggestion is to go for the Knob Creek Single Barrel for only $8.50. That was cheaper than my wife's wine!Oh, and lets not forget that view. It's an incredible view you won't find at many other restaurants.

Chickadee Cottage Cafe, Lake City, Mn On the Great River Road
We were in Lake City camping for the weekend, a very wet and windy weekend. So our focus moved from hiking and sightseeing to eating. Pie in Stockholm, Wisconsin, snacks at the local bowling alley to watch the Gophers play football, and some inside grazing. So when it came to Sunday morning the Chickadee seemed like a good option. We were not disappointed. On Sundays they have a brunch without the line... family style. Food is very good and plentiful, but in smaller portions upon demand. The old cottage setting provided a very pleasant atmosphere to eat and chat, making for a nice way to finish our wet and windy weekend. Oh... the staff and own are pretty good too. We will be going back.

We visited Wabasha, MN, to visit the National Eagle Center like many others do, and then had lunch at Stacy's Kitchen which is just across the street. We both had skillet omelets, which were wonderful. You cannot go wrong here! There are two things to remember about Stacy's. First, they close at 2pm, which is no problem for breakfast and lunch diners. Second, they do not take credit cards, only cash and checks. The meals are so reasonably priced that this should not be a problem. You won't regret eating here!

Featuring fresh cut salads, Fresh ground burgers, wood-fired pizzas, warm specialty sandwiches, creative pastas, dinner entrees, weekend dinner features, full bar, and attached coffee shop and lounge with weekend live music. Breakfast Tues-Fri at 7:00am,
The Railhouse Grill has a very large menu. We had a table of 8 and everyone loved their food. I had the pizza and it was GREAT. The waitress was helpful and kind. Afterward, we went to the lounge and heard great live music. The kids got free ice cream. It was blue and they loved it.

Reads Landing Brewing Company is an American Pub and Brewery. Our menu offers a wide variety of appetizers, flatbreads, salads, entrees and desserts. In addition, we have homemade soup and weekend specials that are always a favorite. Our beer is handcraft
There were two buses parked out front when we arrived, one was a wedding and the other seemed to be a guys beer tour. We grabbed a seat at the windows up front and a waitress quickly showed up to take our order. We just ordered up the house tap sampler ($10.50) a flight of 6 different beers. Service was quick and friendly, the buses departed shortly after our arrival and things calmed down a bit. They have binoculars available upon request, and across the river seems to be a large man made sand dune with active machines digging. The patio has a bunch of old signs and looks like a great spot to enjoy a cold beer on a nice day. I didn't care for their brews but they offer plenty of other beer as well.

In an area of small towns on the Wisconsin side of upper Mississippi River that seems restaurant challenged, the Garden Pub and Grill was a welcome find. It is a fairly new venue with outdoor seating. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a Big Daddy burger ($13), which came with sautéed onions and mushroom, bacon, a beer cheese sauce, lettuce and tomato, and chicken and bacon wrap ($12) with a slightly sweet/spicy sauce. Both came with fries. The menu claimed the burger was the "best in 200 feet," and they go that right. This restaurant will never make the Michelin Guide, but it doesn't need to. Its a good place to stop with a decent menu for a small town, good cooking, and pleasant staff.

The Pickle Factory Waterfront Grill is located right on the beautiful shores of Lake Pepin, which is a part of the Mississippi River. The scenic bluffs and beauty of western Wisconsin add to the dining experience. Check our website or Facebook for current
The good here is always good. We are fans of the fried dill piclkles, burgers, soups. But seems that every time we go, we wait forever for food. Today we watched tables come and go, while we waited, with 4 hungry kids. I don't necessarily mind -- orders get lost, or set aside. But I do want acknowledgement from the waitress and just an "I'm sorry, let me check on that." Instead, she said, "I'll look" and didn't come back again for about 5 minutes with 2 of the kids' plates, then five minutes later, most of the adults, another kids' plate, and then a wait for the last kids' plate. Pretty evident they forgot to make our order until we asked. And no water refills while we waited. No apology, not even an acknowledgement we had waited nearly 45 minutes. Because our family has a boat in the marina, we want to love this place...

Wonderful cafe with great food including breakfast, lunch, dinner and homemade desserts, New owner, New Menu, New Hours. Open Year round.
Passing through Pepin on way to Milwaukee. Dropped in on Homemade Cafe by chance. Noticed thier pies on display on the counter. It was a no brainier - coffee and pie it was. My wife had the Black and Blue pie and I had the Rhubarb pie. Both were excellent. Well worth a visit.

Eight of us dined there this weekend. The food was very average at best. My $.02 is they try to get too creative and sometimes it simply detracts from the dish instead of enhancing it. Even the iced tea was bad, tea should taste like tea, simple as that.
