Reviews on American food in Parksville, British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1910, Parksville is one of Canada's most popular summer destinations for families. Everyone loves Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, with its beaches, tidal flats and pools, wildlife, and campgrounds; and several other provincial parks are within half an hour's drive. Soft-serve ice cream & signature shakes top the menu at this classic burger & fries fast-food chain.
We used to love DQ; but this one was a real disappointment. Sloppy service. Not very clean & tidy. Poor portions. Needs better management.

If you are looking for a very low key, unpretentious, family-style diner in Parksville, this may be the best choice. Nobody is going to mistake this for a three Michelin star fine dining restaurant, but the salt and pepper shaker bric a brac collection is charming, the place is comfortable, reasonably clean, and the service is very prompt and efficient. I received my meal within about 10 minutes of ordering in the middle of a fairly busy Saturday lunch rush, so I certainly have to give the kitchen full kudos. My beef dip was really good, with a mound of tender beef in a brioche-y hamburger bun that was a really different choice from the usual Calabrese bun or minibaguette, but it was delicious. There was more than enough jus in the big bowl for dipping three or four of the sandwiches, so that was great as well. The mound of fries was exceptionally tasty and served super hot right out of the fryer. By all means try this place out, you will enjoy it!

Smitty's welcomes you to their dining room. You can get there by bicycle and public transit. The neighboring area is notable for its restaurants, coffee shops, stores and parks.
Smitty's is a favorite among certain folk: those who don't want ANY surprises and need plain old "Canadian" food arriving at their table. There is easy parking and entry into the restaurant. Inside, it's well-used and worn out, but adequately clean. We have always been treated warmly by the servers, and I think that's part of the attraction. The food is OK, but nothing special... and doesn't pretend to be. I've taken two guests there, both who chose it when I asked where they wanted to go. It's the familiarly that seemed to please them.

First of all, the atmosphere is incredibly warm and comfortable here. My partner and I had the fall mojito and an old fashioned to drink, and the mushroom caps to start. He had the rockfish and I the stuffed chicken, and the food was to die for. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Taste Bistro is now open for dinner (Should have happened years ago)We enjoyed four great meals, appetizers, and a desert Chicken Brucetta was delicious, the ladies both loved the seafood penne, the shrimp cocktail was unique and the seared scallops were a hitWe have enjoyed lunch at the Taste for many years and we are more than happy that they are finally open for dinner We have live in Parksville for 15 years and one complaint we have is the are few âgoodâ restaurants. We are a diamond in the rough! Here at Trees we have an in-house bakery as well as a full restaurant with everything made in house. If you're looking for one of our jumbo cinnamon buns, you should stop by early - they're usually the first thing to sell! W
The desert counter was lovely and tasty, our food was very mid range. Wouldn't go back for the meal, but maybe for a bakery item. Counter staff was very personal but our waitress didn't come off friendly, and made a few comments that rubbed us the wrong way.
