The view and atmosphere are great! The hush puppies are excellent. Service is prompt and they check back on you. The live music sounded really good. We got the daily fish plate fried which tasted really good, not too fishy. My Mother-In-Law got the bacon cheeseburger in which looked amazing and she said it was excellent! Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend.

This was my and my wife's first time in Ocracoke. We wanted oysters and this restaurant exceeded our expectations. It's a casual place with a nice patio on the front. We chose to sit at a table inside. The bar was large and packed with people drinking, socializing, cutting up and having fun. There was a 4-man band of mid-50 year olds. They played fun classics and several danced with or after dinner. We started with the crab dip, which was delicious. We also shared the dozen oyster sampler. All were very good, but the Mon Luis were our favorite. My wife had a salad, I had the gumbo. We enjoyed them both. We took a slice of key lime pie to go. It was ok. But key lime is one of my favorites and my standards are high. Lastly, the bar made a good mojito.

Thereâs a reason you might see someone wearing a Howardâs Pub t-shirt-no matter where you are on the globe- itâs The Legendary Restaurant on the Outer Banks. Fun, funky, and casual, Howard's is open every day from early Spring until late fall. Fresh local
We have been eating at Howards Pub almost from the day it opened, and it has consistently provided good food, drink, and service. It's not the fanciest place on the island, but the blackened tuna sandwich I got on this trip was as fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked (medium-rare) as any I've had in a long time.

Dinner at the Back Porch restaurant. Bacon wrapped scallops with a raspberry caramel sauce. Easily one of the best things I"ve ever eaten. Also had an extraordinary. saute'd crab, and I had a delish crab cake. For dessert we had coconut ice cream with a hot fudge sauce. With the benefit of hindsite, this was the best combination of meal and service we had during our week on Ocracoke. The home made ice cream was so good we went back 2 days later, had drinks, appetizers and inc cream in the bar ... again with outstanding service.

Very very casual. Its your typical beach bar with food type of restaurant. No need to dress fancy, in fact super casual is the way to go. We had Oyster Po Boy and Shrimp Po Boy. Both stuffed with shrimp and oysters, but served on a round bun so no your typical po boy. Service was fine (we at the bar) and it was busy. If you want elegant dining, go elsewhere, if you want casual dining, good food this is one of many options to choose. I read comments that it was expensive and I'd say it is on the higher side for what you get, but that applies to every restaurant on the island that we tried.....you can't really compare the pricing here to pricing back home - this is an island with only ferry access and touristy so with that combination, you pay more.

Six years ago we were here and we returned because many locals highly recommended it. We enjoyed a huge Caesar salad and tasty blackened tuna sandwich. Both were delicious but a little salty for our taste. Waitress attentive and prices reasonable. No wonder this is very popular with locals and tourists alike.

We had breakfast here. It's home-cooking, but not at its best. The grits were thin and runny . They use cheap grits and not stone ground ones. Biscuits were heavy. Crabcake was probably canned meat. Certainly not backfin. Bacon would have been a better meat choice. They do know how to cook eggs though. Pleasant service. clean restrooms. Kid friendly.

We ate twice at Dajio, a fine restaurant located across the street from our Island lodgings at Captain's Cottage. Their Brunch is available beginning at 10 a.m.We had the brunch one morning before going to the beach. My wife had Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Dropped Biscuit ... described as VERY good. I hada Seafood Omelet with grits ... liked it alot. Service was good and the setting was relaxing and charming. Later in our stay we returned for a dinner. I had an excellent Maple Glazed Bone-in Pork Chop. Again, the service was good.

We had a wonderful dinner. Service (Peyton) was stellar, friendly and informative. Wine selection is very good and very reasonably priced (J Lohr Paso Robles Merlot $34). Fig and Prosciutto appetizer is a must, awesome!! I had Triggerfish with an Asian Chili and it was perfect. My wife had Sheepshead and it was absolutely fresh and delicious. Desert was a Figs Foster - not good for you at all but great to try while on vacation. Overall, the best meal we had. It was pricey but the portions were large and it was fresh fish (with salad and 2 sides) and on an Island that caters to tourism so you have to expect the pricing to be a bit high especially in the finer dining establishments, so a bit expensive but it was worth it. Highly, Highly recommended.
