I felt the need to write this review so that future patrons are aware of the poor service they may receive at Aroogas in North Plainfield. The awful experience began from the moment we entered the restaurant. I stood in line behind two people who were chatting by the hostess line. The hostesses were talking amongst themselves for a couple of minutes before I asked the couple in front of me if they were being helped. They said yes so I asked the hostesses for a table...seemed odd that I had to ask them and they didnât greet me. We were seated at a table and waited about 15 minutes before the hostess came back to our table with silverware and said it would be a couple more minutes for our server. Ok so we finally get service and it seems as if the waitress is writing down our drink and appetizers order. We requested a pitcher of Arooga beer for our table and she comes back to the table and says that beer pitchers arenât available only Jack Daniel pitchers...this we laughed off.Half our appetizers come out and the other half took a bit longer. The food was good. Pretzel nugs and beer cheese were delicious! When our food order arrived is when my husband and son had enough of the place. EVERYTHING was wrong. My Arooga chopped salad didnât have blue cheese. My husband ordered his meal Arooga style and our friends got the wrong sauces on their wings. The worst part was that My son never got his wings....it literally took 3 attempts for them to give him what he ordered...ugh. Ok so we finish eating and my son spills his drink. A woman walks by and offers to give us towels. I say âoh wow, thanks for being attentive we havenât had great service hereâ. She apologies and says she is the manager named Joy. From that point forward our experience was a bit better as she took over waiting on our table.

The menu had so many tempting items. I went with the Chicken Parmesan dinner. My wife had a Mushroom and Swiss burger. Both were wonderful. The burger was very large and my wife enjoyed it and took home half. My Chicken Parmesan on linguine with homemade marinara was amazing. The chicken so tender and plentiful. Service was great and personable, despite the restaurant being very busy. A very enjoyable dinner. Weâll be back for sure.
Just ordered some fried whiting, greens, & candy yams. First I want to say that it is very important to support your local family business and the fact that this is a black woman owned business really pulls on my heart strings. So the restaurant gets a 4 over all. The food & customer service was superb, but the atmosphere and presentation of the sides made it lose a star. (Yes I know I gave it 5 starts, because some people I know this is my personal preference. Lol)
if you are any where near here you must visit the place where buffalo wings were invented, so much food on your plate and so tasty ,l remembered this when they came to England so had to try lovely place and brill food

This laid-back pub in Scotch Plains is a great place to go and grab lunch, dinner or a quick drink. The staff is very nice and the food is good too. I had a burger and had asked for well-done fries. Most places under cook the fries but this place got it right! And the food was very good. I recommend this place for a casual bite to eat or a drink at the bar.
See what the Colonel's cooking at your local KFC. Stop in today and enjoy our world famous chicken - it's Finger Lickin' Good!
The restaurant was very dated. The paint is old and rubbing off. Chair marks around the walls and sign on side of building off. Staff very stressed out and struggling to get orders out.

This is a big location, including snug dining spaces, an airy barroom, and even a courtyard for outdoor dining, weather permitting. I went for the pan seared black bass, which was cooked just right, and served with an interesting mix of veggies that each contributed their own flavour and texture to the mix: fennel, broccoli rabe, roasted shallots, butternut squash, and mustard sauce â very nicely balanced, and well presented too.

This is not a new restaurant. We have been going there for over a year
Yes I have to say, this one is pretty much like all the other IHOPs. You get decent food, to start your day at a pretty good price. The services quick, the restroom were clean.I had eggs over easy with a side of pancakes. Also sausage, toast, and coffee.Plenty of parking, great location, good atmosphere and friendly service from the workers. When in the area I will stop in again.

Good food, tasty predictable menu. After hiking Sourland mountain trails we were a bit hungry and good appetite is the best cook. The restaurant was very busy. The wait - during which we consumed handfuls of their traditional peanuts - was short and they have a beeper system to alert customers when their table is ready. The service was truly good, quick and efficient. Our steaks arrived quickly and exactly to our specifications. Nice upbeat atmosphere. The usual personnel dances and corporate "I love my job"shirts.

We parked in the lot right in front of the restaurant, and a valet promptly and warmly welcomed us. Even though we were the first couple of a foursome to arrive, we were offered our seats at the table and promptly served a bread basket and water while we waited for our friends. How nice! We were given one of the coveted tables right by the window with the best view. When our friends arrived, we ordered a variety of appetizers and main dishes which were all excellent. Service by our waitress, Ronnie, was extremely professional and courteous. The ice cream sandwich desert was delicious, and the coffee was hot and rich in coffee flavor, a rarie to find in most restaurants today. Of great importance to us is that the dining room is very quiet and very conducive to conversation. No loud music like you find in too many restaurants these days. The bill was reasonable for the terrific experience. Based on this one experience,I would definitely return even though I donât live nearby.
