I haven't been to an Applebee's in a number of years, but we were at the Best Western at decided to walk down. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and thought it was delicious. Overall we had a great experience and would come back.

Yes you find these places in nearly every small town in Minnesota and all over the upper midwest. A simple breakfast menu, ten or so tables, a counter with stools, one cook, one waitress and the morning-old-guy-coffee-clutch-gathering talking very loud, ........."yeah I remember that '56 Olds I bought, can't recall what engine it had"..... It is comforting that these places continue to exist. Nothing fancy, just a friendly cafe. We did stop here for breakfast as we always eschew the common chain restaurants (Perkins, Denny's, etc.) and fast food (McDonald's. blah). Not that this place has such uncommonly good food, it is just average but it has that realness to it, the authenticity of small town life. You all know what I mean. I ordered the #2 off the breakfast menu. Two eggs-OE, ham, hash browns and rye toast. The coffee is typical and also bottomless. Service here is ok, seeing that there is only one server for the whole place. Just not very efficient. She would stop at tables already being served and obey all their requests for extras while ignoring taking our order. Not normally in a hurry, but we were attending an auction in town, the food wagon (at the auction) sucked so we had to get some better food and get back to the auction.

We had made reservations due to being a weekend night. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and seated at the table they had set for us. The staff were awesome...very attentive and accommodating. The salad bar was basic and fresh. My party , two of us ordered the shrimp, fish dinner, and 1/2 of a chicken. It all comes with potato choice and two pieces of toast. Everyone was very happy with the food. It's a family dining atmosphere with a cozy feel. It will definitely be a place I will visit whenever I'm in the area.

Just looking for a good burger, this is the place to go. Offers a fairly wide menu. Figured since it was packed that it must be the place to go in New Ulm. Always a good sign.

We ate dinner here and were very happy! We had the smoked pork chop dinner (10 oz so big enough to share) which was cooked perfectly, which came with green beans, that were definitely squeaky as they were slightly undercooked, but still good, and sweet potato fires which were smooth, buttery tasting and delicious.I had the local beer, Scheel in a tall glass. Beer was ok, but not remarkable. Then to top it all, we had the chocolate chip cookie desert! That took 12 minutes to bake, in it's own 5 inch cast iron pan; came out of the oven warm, then topped with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel!! Oh, so good! Needless to say, we were stuffed when we left Turner Hall, but very happy. Not cheap, at $35, but worth it.Dennis; we thank you for taking the time to visit and to review our establishment. Hope to see you again soon!

The Green Mill New Ulm offers your favorite Green Mill pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, salads, and American entrees in a relaxing, fun atmosphere.
After visiting the nearby brewery we stopped here for some mint julips and some appitizers. Very cool atmospher with a large patio outside and a large fireplace. The bar mixologist had not made mint julips before but did a nice job. Good chips and salsa. Thanks so much for the review! We're always really happy to hear nice things about our staff, atmosphere, and food. Hope you'll come back again and test us on another cocktail!

Went with a couple who highly recommended George's. We arrived and the place was packed. We stood around waiting to talk to a hostess to be seated. We were standing there for a good 10 minutes and every employee who walked past didn't even acknowledge our presence. When we finally were seated, it was in a cramped spaced and it wasn't very comfortable or conducive to conversation. While I know they were busy, it took a long while to get our orders in, and a long while for the food to arrive. We didn't see our waitress very often. The steak I had was ok, but to be honest, I don't quite understand the hype surrounding this place. The owner did eventually come over and speak to us for a few minutes, but all-in-all, I was underwhelmed.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday. They close at two on Sunday. You order your food at the counter and itâs brought to your table. Breakfast is served all day on Sunday. We ordered the French toast and the biscuits and gravy. We both enjoyed both our entrees. Get a spoon for the biscuits and gravy as theyâre served in a bowl. Staff was friendly.
